Speculation time

So I have been discussing this with clan mates and random passers by about end game and how the DLCs will play into what we see for raids and misions. It was released today, the worst kept secret, taht the Last Man Battalion is the 4th faction 3rd enemy faction. We have little information about this faction other than they are highly militarized and have one leader that is speculated to be apart of the outbreak in some sort of fashion (Rumored), now I am convinced that with the fact that these enemies are already high ranking taht we see them as apart of the first Raid.

Now you sey, well Red they haven't said anything about Raids being apart of the game, and yes I know that, but any good RPG/MMO has end game content that is rooted in Raids that gives loot accordingly. My thoughts that the raid would take place where you are fighting enemies to get to the final boss which is the Leader of the Last Man Battalion. Whether you are attempting to extract civilians or collect data on your way to getting through the enemy forces to Charles Bliss, there are so many possibilities it is amazing.

Now, the DLCs are Underground, Survival and Last Man... all interesting names. Lets start with Underground, which could mean one of two things either physically underground or has to do with a group. Such as Maybe the Rioters or the cleaners. next Survival. I am convinced this could be a Hoard mode dealing with the Rikers Faction. Crash landing into the prison where you have to deal with all the inmates, now that woudl be something.

Of course Last Man is pretty far out and speculation on that would be far reaching, along with the other speculation I have laid forth. But lets get our tin foil hats on and have some fun and maybe...just maybe we have figured out Massives plan before they role it out.

Lets here your theories.

What you say sounds pretty reasonable to believe. As of now we only have 3 enemy factions but I expect with DLC's we'll get more, or the dlc's will just dig deeper into each faction. We'll probably never fight the main boss of any of these factions, I mean if that's the case we'd be destroying the faction by killing the boss amirite.

As g1nt3r said, if that is the case we would be destroying the faction by killing Bliss wouldn't we? And if that is the case, will all the factions be that way? Or just the battalion?

I'm a bit torn on this one, it could be possible. But I think it would be a little strange to just wipe out entire factions from the city.

It may weaken the factions to kill the top guy but chances are there would be a second or third in command just waiting for the opportunity to take over.  I think that would be enough to at least explain why they don't all just disappear from the world if we end up taking out the main boss in a raid type activity.

I would love to see some DLC down the road that opens up new areas with new factions inside.  Maybe some kind of anti-technology survivalist faction that's taken over Central Park or something.

True, but that would work the same for most MMOs then right? I am sure there is more depth than that dude.

how bout if each dlc came with a new in game feature for example underground dlc feature allows a trained dog with you for that mission or permanent, survival dlc could allow a hand to hand combat feature beneficial when those enemies charge at you and are within range, and last man dlc feature could allow the use of vehicles for the exploration of the map in search of others. These are just suggestions not well mapped out ideas but I am pretty sure that all the good folks at massive, ubisoft, and Tom Clancy's the division game could come up with something way better. I hate to speculate but I love to use my imagination.

all interesting, but I am really doubting vehicles will ever be a thing. There is already going to be a fast travel function, but not sure how much you will be able to do. I think we won't know more until launch.

As far as dogs go, that might be, especially since they are confirmed in the BoO but to what extent they will be utilized is unsure.

and there is already some sort of Hand to hand, not sure if they will take it farther though, that would be an interesting dynamic.

Thanks for the input

Hey Red!

ive seen a few things possibly hinting at a "raid" so like ages and ages ago one of the developers said there would be an activity with a minimum of 8 players, also on the pc version of the closed beta there was like a box with a space for 5 more names (Arekks gaming covered it)

my theory, so you have the thugs standard looter guys not expecting too much from them (unless some character tries to organise them better) rulers, cleaners and last man battalion should actually have a big leader like you but I'm gonna guess that they will have their own base of operations which could act as the raid area that you have to get into and fight through.

as far as mechanics go I can't see it being too mechanic heavy although I could be completely wrong. I'm thinking maybe 2 or 3 groups of 4 having to fight just large amount of enemies. Maybe not the best idea and I hope I'm wrong and there's more to it but I think a horde mode type encounter is quite possible.

Whatever happens I can't wait for it either way

I don't think we will really know what kinds of mechanics The Division will have or is capable of until the Launch, but like oyu am intrigued by what isn't quite confirmed
