We ran into issues tonight recording our podcast, so I just wanted to throw some of the Special Report notes that I was planning to talk about on here for your viewing pleasure. We'll be discussing them on Sunday night's recording once I get our equipment back up and running, but just something for the meantime.
Permabans
The crew had said that this week most of the people who had been banned for 2 weeks ended up with permabans, and will continue to do so as they catch hackers/cheaters. They described it as "bloody", so definitely a good direction in preventing hacking/cheating.
Weekly Resets
Operation ISAC is moving to Thursday resets and will now also get Vanity Rewards. All other Weeklies will still reset on Mondays.
Stash
Stash size can't be increased just yet because of client-side restrictions with data, but they are working on an efficient way to do it. However, there will now be a Stash located in each Dark Zone Checkpoint (not Safe Houses) to make it to where you don't have to go all the way back to your BoO once your Stash is full.
Level 34 Enemy Nerfs
Level 34 Shotgunners/Snipers will be nerfed to take some of the bite out of their hits. This only applies to enemy NPC's.
Scavenging
Scavenging is being reworked to make more sense for 1.2. They didn't go into a lot of detail about this, but implied that your Scavenging stats will mean more in reference to loot.
Straight-to-Scope
There will now be a toggle to go straight-to-scope in your settings.
Quality Loot
There will now be 8 Gear Sets Available total. ALL Gear Sets are available in EVERY area (Nomad won't just apply to Dark Zone, etc). There will be certain areas that certain Gear Sets or other Loot will be GUARANTEED, but it will be POSSIBLE to get all Loot in every instance. This means that you'll be able to get Sentry's Call Gear inside the Dark Zone and Nomad Gear inside an Incursion and vice versa, etc. Dark Zone Supply Drops will have a big chance of dropping any of the 8 Gear Sets. Sealed Caches inside the Dark Zone will have the chance of dropping Gear Sets, etc. 182/204+ Gear will basically have much higher chances of dropping anywhere and everywhere.
Dark Zone Bracket
200+ Gear Score bracket will drop 204+ Gear. More High End Weapons especially.
High Value Targets
Search and Destroy missions can be found at the map boards at each of your PVE Safe Houses AFTER all Side Missions and Encounters have been done in an area. Search and Destroy missions reward Intel Tokens. There will always be at least one "Critical Area" where Search and Destroy Zones are and they'll reward double Intel Tokens. You spend Intel Tokens at your BoO in the Security Wing where two new Vendors will be located near the K9 Unit spot. Those Vendors will sell High Value Targets, some being Daily and some Weekly. Difficulty level determines the level of gear dropped, but you can expect it typically to be 182+ gear all the way up to 240 Gear Sets. There is a time limit once you start the HVT missions, and if you die then it disappears until the reset time at least.
Clear Sky
Incursion is located outside, and so may be done in both day and night. Also can have snow, etc; but will not have the most hardcore fog setting. You will have both the ability, and will need to be, more mobile throughout the mission. There will be a checkpoint after the first combat encounter. The beginning of the mission is set up as not a set of waves, but you do have to kill someone with explosives and plant two sets of explosives to get to the next area. They didn't show anything once you actually get to Columbus Circle, so it's unclear what mechanics will be in there. It will be extremely helpful if your squad has a set up where someone is a Tank, Sniper, DPS, and Support. They stressed the necessity of there being a Tank in this Incursion.
Unannounced Incursion?
During the stream, there was an icon on the map for "Broadcast Center" as an Incursion. Nothing said and no other direct mention of it.. have fun speculating!!
New Gear Sets
Final Measure: Tank Role; when you throw a grenade and it damages someone you receive a buff that allows you to diffuse a grenade/mortar blast.
Hunter's Faith: Sniper Role; Marksman Rifle buffs; the further distance your hits impact increases a damage resistance buff for yourself that can surpass the Armor Cap.
Lone Star: DPS Role; LMG/Shotgun Damage Buffs; when you holster (switch) weapons it automatically reloads the magazine in that weapon allowing you to simply continue switching weapons and keep firing.
Predator's Mark: Damage over Time Role; Assault Rifle/Pistol damage buffs; 10 hits to one enemy = Bleed effect of damage equal to those 10 hits. Switching targets resets the counter.
We'll be diving into all of this on Sunday night's recording, and you can probably expect others to go more in depth on this between now and then but just adding what I took away from the Special Report in the meantime! Thank you!
