New Player - Need Some Help

New to the game, love it so far. I just hit level 30 and was able to get my gear rating to 229.

I was able to play around with my gear and mods and have my DPS around 178K and my Stamina at 251K Tech is 70K  I see players online with 300 to 400K in DPS and Stamina, how are they obtaining this. it looks like they are using the same gear as me and weapons?? what am I missing? 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  I play on PS4 and my PSN is ripper1977

This is all true!  It's a matter of either getting really good rolls on your gear or getting gear and knowing what to recal on what gear.  I'd suggest watching some of the videos by Skill Up, MarcoStyle, and Arekkz for help on what to roll on each piece of gear, as well as the best in slot videos.  Pair that with what weapons you're running and what talents your weapons have and you can get stats like that.

One thing to remember is how much you play the game.  If you're a casual gamer like me that plays the game 8-10 hrs a week, you'll have to decide whether or not you want to possibly spend a good chunk, if not all, of your play time for a week min-maxing your build.  That is part of how these players get their builds - they determine the pieces they want and then keep playing, getting better quality pieces, and recaling them until they have the exact stats they want.
