My prediction for Dark Zone PVP

I have a prediction about Dark Zone PVP that I hope is proven false. I have read and read through this Forum and have found that everybody wants to be the ones to fight the Rogue Agents and hunt them down. Well yeah that sounds awesome, but what happens when everybody is a nice guy? No PVP... Yeah you might find a few noob players who don't realize the repercussions of going rogue nor do they realize they now have a huge group of people who want to hunt them down are after them because they went rogue but they may catch on quick. No one is going to go rogue... this is a huge problem. I don't know if this will actually happen, but I can already tell that from my feelings for the game, everyone else's feelings for the game, and the overall atmosphere and tone the developers set in the game people are going to want to play the noble and honorable survivalist instead of that cheap troll who tries to kill everyone. I definitely don't want to be a troll and kill everyone I see but don't be afraid of going rogue... It's a part of the game, and I'm afraid that because of everybody's feelings towards the Epicness of the game, they are almost afraid of it becoming Call of Duty in the Dark Zone. I get that, but still, in the Dark Zone it's supposed to be Dangerous, I want people to be afraid of going into the Dark Zone, and I'm going to make sure they are... Watch out -Stew

I can tell from playing the game not to worry. Plenty of Rogue Agents. Once everyone sees the pros and cons they will make a choice that can either benefit big or hurt big. I know my team went Rogue almost every DZ. It's fun but as with everything there needs balance and if that's all you do it can hurt your progress.

24 people in the Dark Zone, I'm pretty sure not all of them will be as friendly as I will be. Don't get me wrong, I will keep my distance when I see people in the DZ tagged Rogue or not. I don't feel like getting backstabbed every 10 minutes.

I think when entering the dark zone I'm going to base my play style on a flip of a coin.

Heads - A noble white knight taking down those disrespecting the society we are trying to rebuild.

Tails - It moved, shoot it!!!

I will then watch my dark zone rank jump up and down like a yo yo

i played the alpha also. Everyone isnt going to be friendly shake hands and play nice. TRUST me. last day of the alpha was like a battlefield in the darkzone.

To be the fair the last day of the Alpha you had nothing to lose. Your account was going to get wiped and your rank and gear taken, so it didn't matter anymore if you went rogue.

I have the same concerns as CutThroatStew (which you can listen to in full on the RAR podcast we released today ;D )

I know they can/will "balance" the DZ one way or another, but what is the "balance" their looking for? In most cases balance relates to economy or weapon stats, but if it's creating a PvP enabled environment, what is the desired amount of PvP? I'm guessing the balance is PvE against PvP, but I don't know what the right formula is.

Extracting should be an intense experience, and I'm curious to see how that plays out when you get to higher ranks and no one once to lose rank or gear.

My ALT will have a DZ Rank of 1. If it goes higher he'll be doing something wrong ;)

The other thing that will make the DZ interesting is proximity chat. You will hear  players and will know what their true intentions are......or will you?!? Just know that what you say and how you say it in the Dz might have consequences.

This might be slightly harder on the PC version. You have other voice programs like Teamspeak, Discord, Mumble, Ventrilo, ... People will use those to avoid proximity chat and won't give away their intentions. I hope I'm proven wrong though

First post on these forums so Hey Everyone!

I have a theory about what's going to happen in the DZ but I might be wrong about some of the game mechanics so correct me if I get something wrong.

Seems to me there will be people who will grind to a high DZ rank in order to get DZ credits and be able to use the high ranked DZ gear which seems to have lvl requirements. Once they get all the nice gear they want they can just go into the DZ and go rogue every time, yes they will lose DZ ranks quickly then but I doubt if that will mean they can no longer use the high lvl gear they acquired. So basically they have nothing to lose and can kill with no repercussions.

Am I totally off base here?

cheers

Unless it does remove the gear, giving them a reason not too do it.

I just can't imagine that in the middle of a fight as a rogue you could go down a level and your gun would just vanish from your hands.

Something I watched did say that it would take a really long time to get to DZ level 99 so maybe that's the main counter against my theory.

Players will have to balance the pros and cons of going Rogue. As players get gear they are going to be cautious and not want to loose it. Yet there will also be players who will be looking to acquire that gear and may not want to do the work so taking yours might be an easier route. There is also the pvp challenge aspect of the DZ where players will want to test themselves with a target on their heads. #comeatmebro I know my team went on a Rogue rampage for that very reason. I won't out my teammates at the time but it was very very fun.

Once gear is decontaminated it belongs to you. You may have to re level to use it but you don't loose it.
