Hey Devs and Division Community,

Casual gamer here with a quick thought on some things that I would like to see happen (sooner rather than later).
Being more of a casual player, I find the grind less and less fun as countless friends drop off for other games.
While there are plenty of streamers and hardcore gamers that have pointed out issues that need fixing (heck, some have laid out well thought out solutions just short of coding), there needs to be a plan on the devs end to tackle it. Weekly updates seem to lack the same planning effort of the year one content roll out, essentially causing this fix one, break two dilemma that keeps happening.
While the effort in fixing games breaking (in the players benefit) is to be commended, the player base will continue to dwindle while other issues persist.
Here is a suggestion: please fix one major community gripe every two weeks, prioritized by polls on forums, Twitter, Reddit, etc. (like delayed heal or framerate stutter on console) and alternating weeks continue focusing on whatever nerf, patch, rebalance was already in the works.
I know it's tempting to tackle the low hanging fruit of what appears to be th easiest to accomplish, but some of the the things like removing the dab, and now rumor has it the extra med kit/ammo fix for police/paramedic backpacks, you will lose more than half your player base (if you haven't already).

Now on to fun modes that could help bring some player back:
WAR:
Waves of Rioters, Cleaners, Rikers or LMB vs. up to squads of 16 Agents. Start with red bar and progressively crank it up. The only rewards would be weapon kits/crafting material and possibly weapon skins/clothing (ex: Rioter outfit and End is NY weapon skin). Location could be on certain streets (outside the Dark Zone, PvE map or Brooklyn) and joinable via matchmaking free roam.

Hunter or Hunted:
231+ GS 1-4 man Rogue team with LMB as allies in lower PvE only (enabled for the 12 other agents) Dark Zone. Rogues stay on Manhunt until entire team is killed (then they spawn on new server) Rogue team can only be one DZ segment higher ex: 231+ Rogues vs. 201-230 DZ agents. Give the Rogues a mission like escort LMB VIP from A to B or secure supply drop. Reward could be lots of Divisiontech and/or Credits (DZ/Phoenix). Reward for agents would be Gear Set items and or named weapons based on Rogue GS segment (no need for extraction)

Nice post, some good ideas and excellent points.

Interesting stuff and I like th new game mode ideas.  However, I agree that the problems should be fixed before they start adding things to the game that could cause future bugs and problems.

Hi Fuzzy.

Nice post.  A few observations.

This is not the 'official' Division forums so, as @supercat mentioned, you may want to post to their forums using the link he provided.

I find myself more or less in the same position as you.  I tend to match make a lot (usually in the Underground) and am finding it is taking longer and longer to get a group together these days.  I guess the shine has worn off and everyone has enough Firecrest and Blind set pieces now.  I am two missions away from lvl 30 as well which is a pain.  people seem to be in for the quick win as well so if a mission fails, at least half the team will usually leave the group and try to find a better team rather than working together to synergise better.

I think I may have found the issue with the devs ...

"

Rodrigo Cortes: Also, the way we create our games is very organic. We never commit to a plan that we work off step by step until the game is finished. We rather say: »That's the idea. Let's see where it'll take us and what fun it'll bring.« So we have an initial idea, but the actual game grows from that idea. Our technology, especially the engine, has to comply to that philosophy as well. We need to be able to adapt and modify it. It must be possible to quickly try something out.

"

I can tell them now... not much fun for people playing at the moment.

Full interview here.

From that quote, I can bet they're too conceited and stubborn to listen to feedbacks.

They could have known and admit their ideas are a mess at least by the end of May if they weren't that stubborn.

Well they are looking to hire a Game Designer (economy), Game data analyst and some programmers  :12_slight_smile: , oh and also a global brand manager  :64_zipper_mouth: .

I’ll comment based on my first hand experience with a MMO development teams and software houses, don’t want to sound like I’m poo-pooing your comments but just adding perspective.

Here is a suggestion: please fix one major community gripe every two weeks, prioritized by polls on forums, Twitter, Reddit, etc. (like delayed heal or framerate stutter on console) and alternating weeks continue focusing on whatever nerf, patch, rebalance was already in the works.

-          A fix within a two week period even with a dedicated team would not actually be possible, one gameplay adjusting “fix” per month might be possible but bugs take even longer (that includes glitches as you mentioned). This is due to extensive testing that needs to be done as well as notification periods and approvals from third parties such as Microsoft & Sony.

I know it's tempting to tackle the low hanging fruit of what appears to be th easiest to accomplish, but some of the the things like removing the dab, and now rumor has it the extra med kit/ammo fix for police/paramedic backpacks, you will lose more than half your player base (if you haven't already).

-          These ARE the fixes you will get on a regular basis. High profile but easy fixes will always get addressed as its seen as a good way to drag down negative comments, press and helps bring down that ever increasing list of things to get through on your project list each week in your board meeting. In my experience developers rarely completely remove items, particularly PREMIUM items such as those you mention from the game…they may be removing them from SALE however, which is utterly different. Especially as other items already give more significant boosts to cover all the items you describe are already in game within normal gear items you find and unlock as you progress.

-          I like this idea, a lot. However, we pretty much already have this in the game. Missions where you go to a place, clear a medium sized mob including elites…(often then have to talk to the JTF Officer).. then you get waves of enemies attack you…with increasing numbers/strengths, until you get to an end boss, RNG drops mean you get all sorts as well from them. Only difference is that its for up to four players only and I can advise you that its hardcoded as that and only a complete rewrite of the game code and great expansion of the server capacity can increase gameplay from four player to 16 player in the open world unfortunately. You have more players in the DZ but even that is limited.

Hunter or Hunted:

231+ GS 1-4 man Rogue team with LMB as allies in lower PvE only (enabled for the 12 other agents) Dark Zone. -          Rogue specific missions within the Dark Zone? I like the idea again. This obviously isn’t in the game currently and it could be an expansion of the Daily/Weekly tasks…but a flip-side of it where you are Rogue marked throughout. I think THIS idea could be worked into the game, again though I don’t think you could get friendly agent teams to team up officially as higher than 4 player units BUT if the mission (once activated) was pinged on the map similar to cache drops so agent teams gather towards it…that might work. It deserves thinking about and ironing out any balancing issues (are the rogues too strong/weak, how many Ai mobs, would Ai mobs still fight each other, could they be coded to work alongside players “intelligently” etc.
