Latest on 1.2 - Loot drops

I totally agree but we need more bp,s in game with a chance of a good gear score ie if i buy a vest bp i would like the chance of more than 182 score
The devs current model is to decrease crafting as a gear path. Currently, they want it to go Missions>open world drops>crafting. Probably not getting higher chest blueprints anytime soon, especially with a new incursion on the way that drops a new gear set.

I believe when they said that they were going to drop a lot more loot that what they were saying was 182+ gear.  During the State of the Game, I believe the emphasis was that they agreed that all of the lower-end yellow gear dropping was very frustrating to them as well.  1.2 would bring more higher level gear drops in Challenge Modes, Incursions, Supply Drops, etc.  So I think that the increase in the 182+ gear (I'm assuming 214 will be part of that as well since Broken Circle should be out for 1.2), then that should actually help fix the "economy" of gear.  Most peoples' complaints right now revolve around doing a lot of work and only getting 163's for all that work.  In theory, 1.2 will fix that.

most of the 163 complaints are DZ related, and they're bringng a new 201+ bracket into that...with higher level enemies, and 204+ gear only.

Yeah!  That's right, I remember them saying that part, too.  To me, these all sound like ways to help mitigate those issues.  161-200 Dark Zone will get the gear to help get them into 200+ bracket.. and then once in 200+, they'll get geared up even further (combined with Incursions).  It at least sounds like it should help things.

End of the day, if you're running in DZ06 named bosses should be dropping the best "droppable" loot (HE but not the highest GS) as DZ is still a persistent open world regardless of danger level. (this is the way I see it)

The very Top End loot should drop from Challenge Mode in FL currently IMO because you can complete FL without the top end loot...though its a struggle...and only by completing FL will you gradually obtain the gear to complete it faster and easier when repeating it.

My personal feeling is that you shouldn't be expecting open world drops to make your progress through FL easier but only give you the ability to run through in Challenge with an even chance, if you know what you're doing and have a good crew.

Or am I being too harsh? Its how I'd design the drops.

Of course, HE open world drops will let you sail through Challenge modes for lesser missions as they do now but the highest mission should always be a struggle in hard and near impossible in Challenge until you've completed it at those difficulty settings a few times.

Likewise, with the new patch adding another DZ area, if I had my way, it would drop loot only JUST high enough to allow you to qualify for the next Incursion mission and no more.

Only by running through the mission and defeating it do you get gear that will be 220+ GS and even then perhaps one or max two items. The vast majority of drops should remain near to or only just above those you'd find in the DZ high zone.

Again, I'm happy to be criticised on this as perhaps its really harsh and borderline frustrating for a lot of players but I feel that if the following conditions are met the majority of players might be happy.

1) Incursion is a full area, complete with a safe house you have to reach, really high level mobs you have to negotiate, new encounters, side missions etc and deep inside... the new Incursion itself...heavily guarded by even higher difficulty mobs (higher difficulty unless you're at the absolute desired GS for the Incursion itself). This means that players can attempt to access the safe house before they reach the GS of the Incursion but it'll need skill, cunning and luck to get through. Safe house unlocking is requirement to even access the Incursion itself.

2) Glitch/bug tested!! Any glitches or bugs are not encountered in the Incursion itself. Lets stamp that there....you can't complete this by finding an exploit. Happy with glitches in open world as they rarely break the intended game play or greatly effect levelling.

3) Incursion is attainable at GS 220 but the new DZ area will only drop UP TO BUT NOT ABOVE 220!!! Having a DZ bracket that drops up to 240 GS items IS A JOKE THAT MAKES ME ANGRY! I mean...why?? If the Incursion is GS 220 then make the cap in any open world linked to it 220. I don't see the logic. So you have to grind to get enough gear together to even try the new incursion and even then it'll be bloody tough but...isn't that a good thing?? Why would an open world Loot drop be high enough to make the incursion "easier"?

4) Specialist gear sets ONLY drop in the Incursion...ONLY in the last third of the mission. This will be the payoff for getting this far....the high 240 GS items and Gearsets start dropping and at a reasonable rate so everyone gets at least 1 or 2 parts by the time the mission has completed. If you need to supplement this with HE Mod drops and even STACKS of materials and new crafting patterns (GS of 201-220 only though!) then even better.

...I firmly believe that enabling players to get GS items as high as 240 in an Open World environment (even if its in DZ) is fundamentally wrong and imbalanced. Make GS 240 items RARE!! If someone has 240 GS then look on them in awe and wonder.

That's how it should be I think.

*Fetch me the hot line to Massive someone!!!*

I like the idea people can gear thu either pvp or pve (not necessarily the same way). Though missions and incursions are both pve so what yiur saying doesn't sound harsh imho.
Exactly, people can gear up TO A CERTAIN LEVEL in Open world ...either normal challenge missions, true open world drops (very low spawn rate) or in DZ07+(GS 201-220).

If they want more, grind for 220 (which should take a lot of grinding) and hit the new Incursion as that should be the only place to get them.

I dont think that making changes to dz will make it better as i can see gangs of people spending the whole time rogue in dz6 camping every extraction point lol
Another reason to restrict what's available out there IMHO. If they can only get to GS 220 then they'll soon have to turn to purely grinding the new Incursions. Its the very fact that you CAN get the highest level gear in the DZ that promotes this behaviour.

So the latest update on 1.2 is not aiming to fix the drope quality like I seen on another site or did I miss something?

Higher GS items are going to start dropping as well, there are other fuller notes on the update on another thread. With a new DZ zone of 201+ Items will start dropping of between 201-240 GS apparently.
