so my experience at level 30 so far is a bad one gear score of 165 but being murdered by groups over and over again one had a gear score of 206...

just literally can't play in the DZ at the moment had loot stolen hijacked a guy who I helped take down a rogue then melted me afterwards.

can safely say this is the first time I've been pissed off at this game, they need to do something with balancing as if tonight was anything to go by its pointless my bullets were doing no damage my skill power of 22k was doing nothing with a sticky bomb like what am I supposed to do.

lost so many dark zone keys regretting the jump up to lvl 30 now I wish I could go back tbh.

I don't stand a chance at the moment and I don't see myself getting a good gear set quickly  as I can't play this game hrs on end that was the benefit of the DZ I could get good gear on a run

maybe I'll have to avoid the DZ for a while I guess

and this is why I don't play in the dz at all now.  Luckily there is a lot more to this game than that cess pool.  you can still get geared up by doing the pve content.

Start posting up here for people to run with and/or on the Discord (The Division/RAR/DZR) and you should be able to find people to farm search and destroy, HVT, and dailies.  They might not be as fast as DZ farm routes, but I find them more entertaining than DZ farm routes and they help you develop a pool of people that you can regularly play with which can in turn give you a solid group or two to work the DZ with.

OP, run a Free Roam matchmaking and do HVT, man. Going into DZ is same as plunging yourself into a hole and throw your time into the void.

But if you're gonna run a Matchmaking, especially into random guy's HVT, MAKE SURE that you grab your items as soon as possible. Ever read stories about hosts kicking members after the final boss of Incursion before they take the loots? It happens now on Hard Missions and HVT. So keep your eyes on the loot so at least when the worst case happens, you still go back with something in hand.

And too bad you're in the UK. My team could use one more guy. :P

Of course, the daily and weekly HVT's will drop like 90% Lone Star gear and most of it will drop your stats like a rock. Or at least that is the case for me. The advice I got was "grind DZ5-6 and you'll get lots of drops".....Well, I get torn apart by NPCS and rogues in DZ1. Why the hell would I go to DZ5-6?? I'm in the same boat as you as far as stuck at a gear score and not actually getting upgrades. I'm like 203 GS I think and I've had to sell or dismantle ridiculous amounts of 214's and 240's from the HVT's. There is so much imbalance in the game right now I really wonder what the dev's were thinking. I like to think back to my World of Warcraft days and how many elements in that MMO/RPG they could use in this game. Dedicated PVP 'battlegrounds/arena' style play for the pvp types, with gear that improves pvp play not just carryover into pve, some type of black market auction house where players could sell HE gear they don't want or need etc. Sorry for rambling but, I really think they have made the game unfriendly to casuals or players that aren't 'hardcore'.

figure a way to lower your gs and farm dz 5-6 in the lower bracket. once you get enough 214 pieces or shit even 191. re-roll the stats to how you want your build. then go into the 201 bracket. Or stick to the incursions.

Im still rocking a 191 striker holster and sometimes a 191 sentry glove. i do have 240's but overall they are not as good as my 191's

I thought I was alone. I literally put most of those gearsets I had into trash bin and eventually use a combination of gold and gearsets. My GS is lower, but my stats are practically better overall... lol

Time for me to be a hypocrite.  I've said in the past that, no, this game is not meant to be single player.  Contrary to what Massive stated before release, it's not a "great single player experience."

BUT!

Unplayable?  No, don't think so.  I'm someone who has such terrible social anxiety I can't even team up for PvE (want to though, give me time!).  I might have done it a few times with matchmaking, but never on voice.  For the most part, my journey to 30/70 gs 191 has been on my own, and I haven't whined about the difficulty.  For levels 1-30 I did all side missions, collected all intel, and generally stayed five or more levels ahead of the main missions...making them pretty damn easy when I got to them.  In the DZ I kept my eyes open.  I got in, and got out, as quickly as I could.  It took time, and was often frustrating when jerks in groups felt the need to gun me down for no reason, but I always got back up again.  I can now do all hard missions on my own, I often solo farm DZ5-6 160-201 on my own, and can hold my own during an extraction.  My gs could be around 220 if I actually used all the set pieces I have, buuuut yeah, they're pretty crap.  I'm not too worried about that, though.  I've got a pretty damn good solo build if I do say so myself, and as a season pass holder I'm keeping up the daily grind until the Last Stand and beyond.

So no, it's not "unplayable."  Maybe unenjoyable for you, but if you put in the work it can be done.  In the words of my fellow deckhands from back in my sailing days, man up, Sally!  :3_grin:

Living proof that .... this Forum is awesome in helping others AND that the DZ isn't impossible, populated entirely by hackers or that the game is broken!!

+1 Rep sir! +1 for infinity.

if you are gear score 165, you shouldn't be seeing anyone over GS 200 in the DZ, they bracketed the DZ at GS 201. i couldn't team up with a friend of mine i n the DZ who was GS194 and i am GS 204. with that said, you can do the DZ. either team up with people you know or people from this site, (really good people on this site) or go in and avoid everyone.  you see rogues on your map, go the opposite direction. you see other players that aren't rogue, don't stop and look at them just keep going or turn around and go another direction...be a ninja. I know that's not 100% fool-proof, but it helps.

Remember this is all a game. I tend to mute players that annoy me. This doesn't stop them attacking you but stops them jipping off every 10 seconds. Just go to group management and go to nearby players to find those you're near too.  I love the DZ for the reasons you guys  love and hate it.  It tells you so much about human beings. No one likes the moment a group of tanked up high level rogues kill you and knick your stuff but likewise those moments when you meet up with other players and band against the rogues is a great feeling. I try not to take the game too seriously. I'm partial to going rogue now and again but against players who are up for it.

Keep the faith folks.  There are plenty of good (& friendly) players out there.  Personally, I hate Rogues and enjoy helping people when I'm running solo in the DZ.  However, I do get my share of massacres & maulings on my Agent, ha.  Just got to keep getting back up and going.  The key is to keep looking for the good folks.  They are more than willing to help you/us along our merry way.  Stay frosty good people!
