Helicopter Update (Live) & PvP Information

I hope the PvP isn't lackluster. From the looks of it, it could very well be. I'm still hyped to try it out, though.
I don't know, man. I'm actually eager to try it out because the idea seems to cater to the players who really want tactical fight - as it should be.

I expect there will be teabagger and "I f*ck your mom" kids in the first few weeks. That will be the proving ground for this game's pvp. Will they get shaved down by time because the game's pvp doesn't cater to their typical pvp-er dickweed attitude? Only time will tell and I hope for the best for this pvp.

is the pvp in this update or being workshopped ?
It's close to finishing. Apparently we will have PvP Beta soon and the final product will be released "later this Summer", the guy said.

Keep in mind that the helicopter update adds an option to switch between the New and Old controls. Best part is that now you have target marker and someone said there is lock-on missiles now. I haven't tried much last night, but the new control (I was flying normal heli) felt like RC heli. lol

 
Controls are much better but not getting points now for blowing up helis...
That's weird. What else you got?

I found that heli would get stapled into the ground once you land. No more sliding or bumping. You will notice the weird, confused new physics when you're taking control of a heli on a slanted ground and waiting for your team to get in.

 
Do you remember how many Tier Points do you get for hijacking Supply Truck? I need a comparison.

In other region like Itacua, the convoy has no helicopter as escort, and I get 440 Points for burnt/destroyed truck. I set 3 mines along the road and they just setting one after another in panic. Best tactics I can get so far. I used to do this around Koani, but the helicopter was annoying.


Looks is like there is a glitch wth tier one, I'm not getting any points for taking down helis , lomg shots(at vechiles) don't seem to be recognised...??

 
Wow. ok. The missile auto lock is real. I tried flying Gunship and when you're within range, the lock on start counting and then giving the long beep sound when it's ready.

The target dot for helicopter machine gun is freaking helpful!

I really like the quick vertical takeoff and landing is far more precise... helis are finally good for combat, though I'm finding that their gunships have good aim too.

 
They actually did a decent job, though this should of been in the game when it released lol. I'd like them to improve the handling of vehicles next.

Indeed. But I'm glad they actually listened. That was really unexpected.

AI teammate customisation also highly requested. It might come sometime in the future.

Gunships literally have auto lock on now.  :4_joy:  My gawd

Free aiming helicopter minigun just gives me a new toy to play with

 
One more thing about helicopter. SAM missile actually breaks the helicopter and kills us inside.

I'm not sure if it's because of Tier One.

Anyway when that happened, even if your AI crew are still alive and revive you, you'll die again and it's gonna be the fatal one (Killed in Action screen appears).

 
So there's actually a different PvP trailer uploaded on 31st July to Ubisoft Southeast Asia facebook page. I can't find it on YT.

It basically shows information about the class in PvP.

- Pointman: The tanker. Immune to flashbang. Close range combatant

- Scout: The drone man and able to track opponents.

- Sniper: Basically well, sniper..., with high penetration sniper rifle

And then there's a guy calling in Mortar fire but not explained. The narrator said something like "every spec ops around the world wants to gain foothold in Bolivia. And when there is problem, there is a solution."
