I am new to level 30 but have a full HE setup, I have just got two Lone Star gear set items, and they both lower all three stats, how does this work? I want to heighten my gear score as its around 165 at the moment, but doing so will bring my DPS, Armor and Electronics down? so surely I will be less powerful? My DPS is 146k, Armor 106k and electronics 15k currently but the new items drop it quite a bit, is it just me?

Nope not just you

I have struggled a bit with the drops all gearsets i have dropped my stats like an anchor, put it this way I am running nomad still because everything else hurts my stats far to much.

My lvl 30 agent is viable by no means lethal but strong enough to survive solo runs if I am sensible.

Id like to know how its worked for others - did they just stick the higher rated gear on and work through or just wait for the god drops.

Oh ok well at least its not just me, I thought it was weird, the gear sets require some hard fighting for so its a shame that they put your stats down rather than up, doesn't make a whole lot of sense! why do Incursions etc require a certain gear level if gear levels means nothing towards agent strength

Gear Scores "in of themselves" often don't enhance your top line skills. However, as sets or partial sets they often greatly buff hidden stats such as damage resistance, crit chances, specific weapon damage.

The key, and the long process, is to gather the gear and continuously move items about to find that balance that enhances "there" whilst you loose out "here", If you're looking to greatly increase skill power for example then you will lose out in DPS and so on.

The other idea is to reroll stats on GS items, though, to me its a bit of a waste of funds until you're at the top of the tree with a solid GS 201+ for example. Then its a matter of refining your character build with the right weapon, right gear, right talents etc.

Just slapping on a higher score item of gear does not, on its own, help. This is a misnomer lots of people fall for.

I could be wrong but its possible the Incursions calculate GS even if you don't have it equipped similar to the Dark Zone.
