gear score vs armor stats, which is more important

For myself, I will always put armor first! As it is now I run 4 pieces tac with reckless chest and hunter faith backpack, GS 248. When I will get a tac backpack with good rolls or has potential I will re roll to fit my build and I should be golden until Undergroung comes in! When I will get this back pack I will be able to put my savage gloves 229 and my overall GS will be around 245 and I will have a way better build than other players with GS 255.

I have 290 DPS 470 Toughn and 30K skill....What really matters on your gear is the Armor to get the cap of 75% and above 100K health. If you have a piece dropping with low armor, look at his main attributes and minor etcc, if they are good you could re roll one of your main to get armor. This is what I do all the times and I have no problem in PVE or PVP.

You got to decide which type of play you want to do, DPS build? Hybrid build? Tank build? Tac build? or Support? Myself I choose 2 builds (tac build and support) and don't care about the rest. I keep lone star for ammo on restock with police and med backpack and alphabridge for extra 2 meds and that's it!!!

I don't care about striker, sentry, and others who doesn't fit my type! for me it is 4 pieces preds or tac with reckless chest and savage gloves, for me this set up is awesome and killer!

Edit 1: My dps probably drop after the patch today because I run g36 with first wave m1a, I don't know it yet because I am at work!

damn 290 on your g36?  that's higher then my dps with my striker build. I'm at 267 with my g36.  since youre support/tac you may want to up your toughness even more.  the tacs I run with are typically 550+ toughness with much lower dps, typically around 170-180 on their smg (probably 200 if they have a g36).   I'm not sure if you PvP a lot, but that's what we mainly do. Either way, you've got a solid build and know what works best for you, your group and your style of play.

Actually my dps drop to 210 with this patch on my g36, I could put my stamina higher and sacrifice dps but I would need better mods (stamina) due that I use most likely all stamina mods, But I will probably sacrifice 1 gear set who has firearm to put electronics higher so I could have close to 40K skill without any boost with the Tac bonus. My skill is high due that I have skill power bonus on my mask and backpack!!!

I like to have kind of hybrid class but more incline to tac or support build, I do more PVE than PVP, I mean I do lot of DZ but I stay away from rogues or If I am engage into a fight, if it takes more than 15 minutes to kill a guy I just ran away. 500 mtoughness is overkill and in PVE you still get meltdown by 35 npc. So betwwen 460K tough - 550 tough there is a difference but not that much, that's for why I like to put a little bit more dps instead.

If they could actually fix their problem with the stats of your build adequately, I would probably put more health but for now my build is really good and I like it!

What helps to bring your dps higher its on the gear mods, I have a lot of stamina mods with CHC as bonus, this really helps to bring your dps higher and boost you CHC, and you should always bring a reckless chest and savage gloves to your build If not I put final measure instead but I don't really need too due that I am always staying back.

I use a reckless chest but not savage gloves.  Im running 5 piece striker with a couple 250 gs items still.  I dont need chc as i still use my pre 1.3 aug with deadly/bruta/responsive.  Plus, im usually in a group with one dedicated tac/support so their pulse plus my chc on gear/mods gets me to cap.  I usually run fire or stam gear mods with electronic boost so i can actually do some healing and my shock turret is more useful.
