Double Barrel vs Sawed Off

So for the life of me I cannot tell what the difference is between the two. They both have the same stats, range, etc. The spread even seems the same. Anyone know if there is a difference besides one being a sidearm and one being a main weapon. Thank you!

Are you sure the optimal range is the same between them? I'll check next online but I'm sure the last time I had a sawn-off (pistol) and normal DB shotgun it was very different. 

Chart looks the same but the gradients at the bottom are different values I think.

I dont see any lesser of value than the other. I have found numerous damages of both and currently my sawed off is higher damage. And yes the optimal range is the same. They also roll the same perks.
