This is terrible, it serves no purpose and will only shorten the life of the game when people get bored of this dumb concept. You would have thought that they would have learned this mistake from other games. What happens if my friend dies and I grab his gear and get out, only to not be able to give it to him when I find I'm again. Its an incredibly stupid design decision. I don't see how this could be a good thing in any way.

It does serve a purpose. If your friend died you already failed your friend by not watching his six. ;) Not to mention you can stay alive and guard his dropped gear for him to get his happy butt back to it so he can pick it up. There was this alphabet game I played where I was able to do something like that.

I know some people like the idea of trading but when put into practice it nullifies the fun of grinding for that great weapon.

The infuriating yet fun time of your mate getting one in his first 100 hours of playing and you still sitting there at 500 hours without it.

Being able to say 'me and *insert name* were just roaming around and came across *blank* and there was shit loads of rikers and their boss done this and that, and then I got this epic assault rifle'

I find it much more fun having a great gaming story behind your gear rather than 'traded with Dave'

With 'gear' I suppose you mean your loot in the DZ right? As far as I can tell your gear stays on you permanently, it's the loot that gets dropped or am I wrong in this?

If you are carrying loot in the DZ with your friends, and you die but they manage to get your stuff before they get away, theres no possible way they can give you the gear back. That makes no sense in my head, but I guess other people think its smart. I disagree.

I'm actually really happy with the lack of weapon trading. I feel like if it was implemented it would make going rogue a lot less tempting. :)

Read an article that said just because it's not included at launch doesn't mean it won't be there in the future, it's just the way games go ya know , some features make it in over others.keep eyes on the horizon for it

When your in the DZ and die any loot you had earned in the DZ that has not be decontaminated will drop to the ground.

That sounds fair.
Considering the dynamic of what the DZ is  ,it is more than fair. Loot trading in a loot based game (outside of some limited and controlled environment) would seriously damage the replayability.  I also like what Scoop said about being sure your team has your back. It is going to make things very interesting. I don't forsee a lot of "teaming up with randos" as opposed to established groups.
