Dark zone supply drops

I have either been very unlucky or the supply drops are just plain crap! I have now secured 5 supply drops in the dark zone and have received 8 purple superior items and 2 gold high end. Is it just me that is starting to think it's not even worth chasing down? Killing the named NPC on the drop rewards you with a HE so I suppose going for the drops isn't that bad I just think that the effort to secure them isn't balanced with the rewards!

I think what happend to you is normal. I read several similar posts elsewhere on the net where players complain about the bad drop rates for HE gear for those crates. They should give you at least one HE item per crate. Otherwise it is really not worth hunting them down unless the namend boss of course as you mentioned but those are around enough anyways in the DZ without the risk of getting "rogued" by a team of 4 just waiting to kill you.

I did 8 supply drops today so far, and about 20 total since they were added and all I have ever gotten were purple drops. My only HE drops have been from the named guard.

As far as I know, the location of the drop matters as to what % you have to find HE or set pieces in the drop. That being said, the odds are still stacked against you no matter where you find it to find HE or set pieces, as superiors have a MUCH higher chance to drop.

Superior (purple) gear is useless to myself now (and to a lot of players) I have collected supply drops from dz06 and dz05 and still no luck, yet to hit a gear item as a drop, I always struggled getting high ends to drop before update 1.1, maybe the game just doesn't like me very much!

Being a solo player I've all but stopped going for crates, I will tag the named enemy as this is HE drop, but the crates are just not worth the loss of xp to fight for.

Honestly, I'm okay with it. It is so easy now to get HE drops they don't need to make it any easier with these.

Almost every DZ chest is giving 2 HE items. Each named boss drops one. The excitement from the first few weeks of seeing that gold cylinder drop is completely gone.

What I would like to see them do with the supply crates is make them have one of the higher rates of dropping gear set pieces so that people would still go after them, but most of the time you would get nothing better than purple items.

Yes I agree with you, I don't think they should be making HE gear easier to get. The fact that I've only ever looted purple from the crates is what makes them not worth dying for.

I've gotten three set pieces so far from about 12+ loot boxes. Striker gloves, sentry gloves and nomad backpack

keep at it peeps

i think the reason they added supply drops was to have more conflict between players and not necessarily for great loot.  that's why everyone in the zone gets a notification that one is coming. you have to fight the NPC's guarding it and other players trying to claim it before you do. you are guaranteed a High end drop just for the named boss guarding it..the supply crate is just an extra bonus if you are lucky enough to get a good drop from them and lucky enough to be able to claim it before anyone else

Yeah I agree the supply drops are a new way of creating a suspense filled PvPvE situation, but after the rewards from the crates being so bad this doesn't happen as often now because a lot of players think that risking your life for a crate with 2 purples in isn't worth it, I have claimed 3-4 crates solo as nobody is bothered to try for them

agreed, one way to correct that problem is have fewer supply drops with better chances for HE gear.

I just see the crates as a marked location for a named elite....at least that's an HE drop. The crate contents are just a bonus to me.
