Dark Zone? More like Kiddie Zone...

Ive had a blast in the DZ so far. Even as a level 14. Only once has somebody killed me for no reason. Haven't found much in the way of gear though. I try to come to the aid of random people I come across. Either help them cover the extraction zone or when they they are up against a few NPC's. Seems to go over pretty well lol

do you even get an award for beating out a 10 second  timer? thought it was for beating a 5 minuet timer. dont know, never been rogue
You get XP for beating the timer. The shorter the time, the smaller the XP. I did it a few times last night. It certainly helps if you can get away with it enough. I did try this on the wrong group once and lost a high end holster. So there are certainly risks involved.

Ive had a good time and met mostly cool people tho once I was in a group with 3 they went rogue then I was like ok guys im heading back out the DZ and left the group so they killed me right away lol and then last night I put down a seeker mine and was in engagement with some A.I helping 4 other players. Well A.I my seeker went to was near a player so it made me go rouge. I put up my hands was killed and lost my dark zone keys and gear like damn lol. Oh hell shit happens I guess.

lol this is why I always run the Defense special when playing with randoms! As soon as we go rogue, I pop it and run away from the group like they had the Green Virus!!

I always have the damage buff signature skill equipped for some reason...I really should switch to defense. If anyone on Xbox One wants to hit up the DZ sometime add me! GT is same as forum handle. Happy hunting!

How we typically run is two will have Defense, one will have Offense, and the last player will have Health. If you go rogue, player one pops defense, player 3 pops offense(spray everything in sight) then when the defense buff wears off, player 2 pops there and by then you should have burned off the time. So you survive going rogue, plus you get a ton of XP.

Its actually really boring, half the time I'm running around looking at chests that have been already looted and when I do finally see people, everyone is too scared to do anything near each other.

I agree. It is pretty boring. I only spend maybe a hour in there a day. There just really zero benefit to go rogue. You can get good XP by beating the timer, but you'd get XP if you play in the arena enough anyway. But if you die as a rogue, it's like the worst thing ever.

If you die at the hands of a rogue, you lose pretty much everything you've done for a hour. So it's literally a stalemate. just farm and gain XP off bosses, or go rogue and pray you beat the timer.....like watching grass grow.

The DZ is broken as it stands. Tired of people purposefully running into line of fire and grenades just to force rogue. The death penalty is crazy high for dying as rogue. I would be well over 50 by now if not for this issue. Makes the gameplay not fun and want to avoid it all together which after the dz there is nothing left to do. Something needs to be done ASAP or the player base will fall off quickly.

I was ok with being Rogue but I left early because I wanted to go back to main game and I was still Rogue when i left the group so they killed me for the XP haha oh well. But next time I wont leave the group until Im in the safe zone  next time haha

I am lvl 21 in DZ atm, and play mostly with one other person so we are always 2 player group. I have noticed there are quite a lot of children that all seem to wait just as you are in a good battle to intentionally run in front of you just so you will go rouge. Then turn and kill you. I have also been plagued by the one child who hangs out at the extraction and kills then extracts gear he/she did not earn. So far my DZ experience has been nothing but a troll's paradise. Where people are doing  things like this intentionally. It seems for me anyways that there are more people who do these types of things just for the laughs. I was hoping as some one mentioned above that once people reached higher levels in the DZ this childish behavior would cease but it seems that since some people who have grinded there way threw to better and better gear are now bored and are intentionally killing other people for laughs. Or for just simply to steal gear and use it to deconstruct.

Also since the most recent updated. It seems to have gotten worse, I know about the bug that was making it rouge central, but I waited until late last night to get on due to that. Which to my understanding has been corrected. But now there is basically no down side to going rouge. So people are doing it more and more.

I am the type of player that want's to enjoy the game and not be a *ick to everyone I meet. I understand fully and support the way the game was meant to be played. It has been said many times before that this is and will be a big part of the game. The DZ is a open world environment where at anytime you are under threat from AI, As well as Human players. It was also said that the game is built for cooperation between friends and other online players. Problem is there is always going to be the *ick heads out there who just want to spoil the fun for everyone. I see this game could have been great, and still can be if you have more people willing to help out and having 8 player groups 4 with 4, basically wrecking all AI and being helpful for everyone. This would make being or even thinking going rouge a bad idea knowing you will get wrecked by many people instantly. There are many ways they could go about having a sever punishment for going rouge. As in not being able to use your skill's if  you go rouge. You could also make it enticing to go rouge with big rewards but with very big down sides. Make it so you will get a big reward if you survive like it is now but make the down side so big that just randomly picking on people wouldn't be worth it. That's really what it comes down to is the people who randomly pick of other people in this game nothing but bully's that are online.

I have as well as other people that I play with have just decided to start building our characters for nothing but stomping on these people who go rouge to just be *icks. As I am not an idiot I understand this will do nothing but make me feel good. It will also for that lobby make these kids realize for that game instance there is someone intentionally there looking for you.

My best advice on the "Attitude" problem we all seem to be seeing lately is to wait it out. and plan forward.

Many of the troublemakers (not talking about the odd rouge, i respect your lifestyle choice) will get distracted by the next shiny game soon enough.. they have no long term vision. They reach cap, get their l00ts.. epeen about it on social media... then after a time, get bored and complain "it all done,im bored now" we are already seeing that unfold.

They have no care about how they are perceived by others, they got this game because it was the latest thing, most "missed" the story.. the point went right over their head in the rush to be uber god ganker man.

This... abhorrent behavior was to be expected. Every MMO/RPG with a PvP goes through this phase.. some will stay, and in those we may find some rouge legends with mighty tales of battle.. they will earn their names and stand above the rest as a agent to be feared.. the same can be said for hunters.. and there will be hunters (if there's not already) who solely go into the dark zone to manhunt... it can/could be the stuff of legends. roles will be played, as it should be in a RPG.

But right now... it's just messy poo..

It's obvious this won't be the state of the DZ forever.. we are all part of the experiment in balance. It'll never be *perfect* for everyone.. right now it seems to be a little bit easy for the trolls to troll, as the game evolves so will the playerbase.

Hopefully.

maybe its different on PC, but ive ran into a few random people that are more then willing to band together and kill the groups going rogue. i feel there is more cooperation between players then not.

there are a lot of good people in the DZ, no doubt about it, and that what i love about it. Running around, hooking up with strangers and taking out some rogues, getting good gear etc... I also don't mind being "hunted" and killed by rogues, its all part of the game, as long its a fair fight! But there are some rank balancing that needs to be done :)

I agree with everything Xarian said (I just quoted the best bit!). Given time these trolls and children will return to the world of CoD or some first person run-a-round like that. Most of my time spent in the DZ has been devoted to looking for rouges or players in need of backup with the NPCs. It's been great fun but not very rewarding. Maybe there could be an optional 'Hunter' class introduced to balance things out. Unlocked by reaching a certain lvl in some sort of player rating system, like a player reputation score.

Hunters could be called for by non-rouge players if they are in need and those who respond could be in for an XP bonus or so. It would give players that just want to explore the DZ and tango with NPCs a little backup if they have a rouge player/group on their case. I know it would have been nice to call in support during my first few trips out.
