At level 7 - is playing solo in Underground possible?

 I have a couple questions for those experienced in the DLC Underground.  I am currently at level 7 and I play solo. Do I need to be at, or near, level 30 to play solo in Underground or would that be asking for outright failure?

Other question is, IF I can manage to complete a mission in Underground, do I take whatever perks and upgrades with me going back to the main game?

It is meant to be end game . Though if you're level 28 and have completed the story by doing General Assembly I'm not sure if it will stop you or not. There's a side mission which becomes available at the end of the story missions, and you need to complete that to gain access to the UG.

The "normal" mode is not that difficult so if it were allowable at say 28 then it would be doable. At level 30 gear normal mode is fairly straight forward.

@Oh. daesu is right, unlike Survival and LS, UG is designed for end-game (lvl 30), so I'm not sure if you can run UG until you hit lvl 30. To answer your other question, the gear you get carries over to the main game and was (is?) a prime source for certain gear sets (been VERY long since I've played it so I don't remember which sets).
