very cool, i think its funny they are still using some of that Brooklyn footage in their marketing. west 23rd street for example shows one of the clips of the police station battle (the pulse). i still think Brooklyn will be in the game, but later on..they did a ton of work on the game in Brooklyn. Why scrap it all?

It will be like Destiny.

I don't know if you know the story behind that, here's a short version:

1. Bungie spends nearly 4 years building a massive RPG open world game with space travel and stuff;

2. 13 months from release it all gets changed and entire game gets rebuilt, so content gets cut to fit the new narrative and because they have too much content and not enough time to rework it all;

3. All the content from the Season Pass (Dark Below DLC, House of Wolves DLC) was originally made for the vanilla game; Additionally, the Dreadnought and Taken King stuff was also built for the vanilla game, they later repackaged it as an Expansion. Other content cut from development but still MIA (and some now rumored to be added in Destiny 2) includes a big area on Mars, Mercury, Saturn, space travel, bigger tower / open world last human city, other locations on Earth like Detroit (or Chicago, don't remember which), an actual RPG conversation system with NPCs, etc.

I'm sure something similar has happened to The Division, the game has been postponed several times and they eventually had to cut content to release it. I imagine Brooklyn, the bottom part of Manhattan and Central Park are prime areas for DLC.

I've also read they had to redo the whole game as well (The Division). Can't seem to find it anywhere though, I'll keep looking for a source. I didn't know this was the case with Destiny, it's quite a rip-off. $$$

you might be right, but if they dont want load times in this game, i think they will expand the game up instead of down (I can see the title now of the DLC "the division: central park") , that would be a huge undertaking to fill in the gap between mid Manhattan to Brooklyn  If you look at the map, just judging by the dark zone, it looks like the top is cut off, seems like they want to expand that up in the future. or they just could have special missions to brooklyn. but its just a guessing game at this point, we have no clue what their plans are

Why not wait and see what the game has at launch? You can't hold other developers to what happened with Destiny. The opposite could also be true. Ubisoft Massive could have seen what happened with Destiny and decided to not make the same mistakes. I honestly have no idea what happened but I don't think a different developer should be knocked because Bungie lost control of its game. Unless they really down scaled The Division since the Alpha it will be a more polished game then even Destiny is right now.

I agree with Scoop. Give the benefit of the doubt. Lets not me so cynical folks.

Oh my point wasn't to trash the developers and accuse them of doing the same as Destiny, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. It was more to point out potencial areas for DLC that are in some stage of development already, which would IMO be stuff we have seen before (like Brooklyn).

@Blazzen67 I agree that Central Park is not only a great area for DLC, the top part of the map seems to be cut there in a straight line.

We just don't have enough evidence until the game comes out and the inevitable news articles to follow.

I'm sure there will be tons and tons of streams out there.
