Leveling up help

Somewhat of a newb to these type of games.  my buddy seems to level up faster then me when we play.  whats the best way to get better weapons when not in dark zone?  good leveling up tecniques would be appreciated

Wear gear that increases kill xp. Play with a full team if you can, since more players=more NPCs=more xp.

Weapon drops are up to RNGesus. You never know when you will get something actually better than what you have. But I would bet against buying from the vendors. It's like shopping at the mall. It's ok stuff and may make you happy...but it's not like something you would get in Beverly Hills or something

what level are you? if you are under level 30, the main missions give you the most xp upon completion. the more team members also equals more NPC's to fight, which translates to more xp. then when you run out of the main missions, do the side missions as well, open all the safe houses and do all of their indivisual side missions for each zone they are in. also, pick up all those collectables you see on your radar..those are 300xp a pop i do believe

How come I can only mod of my armor?  what tells if you it is a moddable item?

well, if you go to the inventory screen, and you bring up an item, the "mod" button will active when you can mod that item

Its weird i keep getting armor that is non moddable.  im level 21

If i recall. Modable gear doesnt come until higher lvl. Hang in there youll get it.

yeah, i think only high end gear (gold/yellow gear)  is modable at level 30....

Might I add, I'm not that big of a fan of mods...since it means you're actually short a perk. Perks tend to be stronger than most mods, but mods do allow you "build" a bit better to your skillset.

Well I mean the high end ones can add like 160 or so to firearms, stamina or electronics, thats not a bad boost.
