Breaching Techniques

I forgot what game I played had suppressed shotgun and it sounded like cat wet cough. Lol

Anyway, is there anyone here actually use Shotgun in this game? To think about it, not a single enemy use Shotgun here.
Moi.

For example, hitting a convoy, I loadout with a mg121 and a sasg12.

Edit: or storming a communication station.

And if I'm sneaking in a tight compound and it could go pear shaped, I might use a sub and the sasg12. So stealth i can use sub , and if my world goes to shit then the shotgun is there.

IF you are part of a player team and want to play the game "as if" real, you will have a Breecher armed with a shotgun who's first in the door when making entry into a building. Certainly if the enemy is alerted the shotguns still one shot kill so its there if you want to play the game really hard core.

I tried that when playing with my friend. It was so cool at the beginning. My friend C4 the door, I threw tear gas and went in with automatic shotgun.

Zing zing zing! And that's it. They killed me.

From then on throwing grenades room-wide would be my first thing to do after the door's breached. LOL.

Like the idea of flash bangs thru the door first. Sounds more realistic. I necer thought of trying. :/

Soloing, i throw grenades first, then lmg what moves, then use shottie to forceably make my way to the keyboard (comms mission).

Also found you can reverse a vehicle into the door to smash it open. Plus your minigun can get what tries to initially rush you.

This was the best part of the original R6 on PC from '98, having a player with breach charges and a shotty.

The problem with flashbang (in this game) is that all that smoke don't mean jack shiz to anyone outside the range.

Which means, if someone walks down after the bang is off, he can see through it and shoot you, while your view is completely blocked by the white gas.

Breaching techniques in-game are a little ... off par with real life. This is mainly due to the game setting and how the game sets up CQB encounters with enemy factions.

95% of the time such encounters show no chance for "collateral" damage to civilians. Hence, whilst you have access to smoke, Flash Bangs etc it almost always boils down to using lethal grenades.

There are a few missions where you need to secure a hostage and, if thought about, you can as a team use the various non-lethal grenades as a valid option. Unfortunately good scouting mostly negates this if you're coordinated enough as each team member can call off a target to take out immediately on breaching and avoid collateral damage.

Most other CQB encounters are exclusively populated by enemy meaning upon breaching the response is - lethal grenade in, followed by two 40mm grenades to reach the rear parts of a room...then fast and hard room entry using LMG's or fast firing AR's.

So I feel whilst the game gives us the tools, it doesn't encourage their use enough. There should be more instances where Communication bases are populated with Civilians for example, more of the missions where you have to secure a hostage are in far more secure bases etc.

I usually prepare two explosives at 2 different doors and when I'm playing online, my friend always ask why. I said "shut the f up and get your shit ready from the other side".

When it's blown, the enemy will face to either one of the breached doors. Anyone standing by the door that is not looked at will have to start shooting, followed by teammate at the other door. At this point you have caused a confusion and enemy most likely will quickly hide at an unsafe cover thanks to pincer attack or not hiding at all due to split attention.

I'm sure many people over Ubi forum would consider this as bad AI, but for me the AI is brilliant at peril moment like this. lol.
