Hi guys wonder if anyone could help.

Been playing the game for a month or so but still unsure how Armour works.

I have been doing some underground and DZ but tend to find I get killed rather quick but often pair up with some guys who can take a good beating and there health doesnt go down as quick.

What am I looking for to make me stronger where health does not go down so fast. im like lvl 30 (225)

On your character tab there's a section called survivablity. It shows some stats on your protection.

Check your armour mitigation. It is capped at 75%, so you want that as close as possible. Once you reach 75% any more armour value is wasted.

The other handy one is protection from elites. Check your gears modifiers for that one.

Also it simply could be your mates just have tankier builds than you. They could have higher stamina than your build. You might be too dps focussed.

5354 is the current armor cap, until 1.4 comes out.  Any armor that you have over this doesn't help you any more - it doesn't defend any better and it doesn't increase your toughness.

This is another big thing to look at.  If you max your damage mitigation from armor (which defends against bullets) you want to get your protection from elites and your exotic damage reduction numbers up, as these reduce the damage from yellow bar enemies and from non-bullet damage (grenades, flames, etc.) respectively.
