I spent an hour being a DZ leech and it was great

So last night I got online a little earlier than normal and I had a little over an hour to kill before the rest of my squad showed up.  I decided to try a new approach to running the DZ solo.  I'm sure this has been done and maybe discussed but if you haven't tried, it's quite an effective way to get loot.

I got in and went into stealth mode.  Saw the library was up so I found a spot about a half block away, hunkered down and waited.  It wasn't too terribly long before a squad of four showed up and started to take on the mob.  In the midst of the action I stood up with my trusty M1A from way down range and pumped one round into the boss and then hunkered back down and waited for the carnage to end.  I used my pulse to see where my new "teammates" were headed next, ran into the library after they moved on and grabbed my boss loot.

I then ghosted my way to their next objective hanging about a block behind them.  They were following a typical farming route so it was easy to assess where they were going next.  They did a fine job of clearing the streets of random mobs for me as well.  Next stop was the refueling station.  Did the same thing and then onto the park.  (This plan would have failed had they gone down into the subway so I was glad they didn't!)  Once my pack was full I made my way down to the DZ1 east extraction and fired off a flare (decoy)  before quickly making my way to the western DZ1 extraction point to actually get my loot out.

This is obviously not the best method if you are after XP, materials or cash but if you are just looking for the better loot from boss drops I'd highly recommend this tactic.  I don't think that team of four ever knew I was there.  If they did, they certainly didn't acknowledge my presence.

I like this tactic. Its clean, fair, the other players don't lose anything by it and you're not getting in their way. Of course risk was they could have just decided to hunt you down but ... that's the DZ ... always a risk.

Pulse is your best friend in the dz If running solo. Always pulse and locate the boss to make sure you get the drop. This is a tactic I used when I was of a lower gear score and not as strong. I now just charge into landmarks like a lunatic.

I approve this method. I sometimes like doing this too. Like has been said earlier, it's clean, fair, and doesn't harm people's effort and time.

I usually snipe the enemies too though just to subtly help.

I also found sometimes a solo does this to my team. But I often caught many of them since I always keep paying attention to surrounding. I usually will throw a Jumping Jack gesture to bust them and then they'll usually tag along us without being grouped. Always great to be able to do this.

This isn't being a leech. Letting then die and then taking their dropped stuff, sure. Maybe those sucker fish that eat the parasites off larger fish. Though, that sounds unwarrantly unflattering.

I'm surprised they didn't notice or get spooked a little. Generally people can tell there was extra fire from elsewhere. You see them turn around a look in your direction knowing someone is out there.

I've done this before. It's sneaky and fun. I took out a rogue before like that as well. They were picking on a few agents and I just kept popping the rogues with the m1a. They had no idea where I was. Lol. It's the small wins like this in the dz that make it fun

:4_joy:  That's like giving a taste of their own medicine. Good, good.

I find the scaffolding on the East side of the sports store is a great spot to snipe rogues.  You can see almost all the way north to the refueling station and south down to the blockade.  Most of the time they don't even realize you are up there.
