What parts of TD do you do and not do?

This was hard to title - What I am getting at, if you bought all the expansions (I did), what parts of TD do you enjoy and what parts do you not play?

For me, I think it's easier to describe what I don't do first - PvP, survival, last stand.

On PvP, I do venture into the DZ much more often now that I have a fully optimized nomad.  But not for PvP, I clear landmarks, do collectibles, and the dailies/weeklies.  I do not do skirmish, or last stand. I did try both out, but as I don't really have a regular 4-toon group (or 8-toon for that matter) it simply does not appeal to me.

On Survival - I have ventured in a few times, but never really got into it.  I like the premise, but not the format (rando toons and no real solo ability).  I do plan to do more in Survival, but finishing underground is next on my priority list.

What I really like!

  • boss runs - Mindless, simple, gratifying.
  • dailies/weeklies - Just as above.
  • HVT - mostly just the weeklies, but they are all fun.
  • incursions - I finally have tried all of them.  I really like them, but wow, very hard.  I have completed two.
  • resistance - We are borg....  I like all of these.  Everything about them.
  • legendary content - Just to push my limits when fully awake and twitchy.
  • global events - Though, I have no need for GE credits anymore, the game play is way fun and LOL.
  • underground - I love the whole premise of mission oriented close combat and random hunters.
So there you go.  What do you play and not play with TD?

For me;

Don't play ;

Stolen Signal: Really hate the last stage of having to coordinate and have 3 good shield builds in order to complete it.  The fact they have to stand in exactly the right place as well is quite annoying.  When playing with randoms I often have found we cannot get past the last stage.  For that reason I find it a complete waste of time now.  This is the only item I actively avoid in LZ.

All PVP: Not really in to the bullying Dark Zone culture.  Not spent time on building PvP builds and don't relly have an interest is proving how much better I am than others.  I am old and my reactions are slower than the younger folks.  I also have a lot of 'real world responsibilities' that mean I cannot play as much as others so I have no illusion of being worse, just don't need to prove it  :14_relaxed: .  So do not play Last Stand but do run the Dark Zone every once in a while and quite enjoy the PvP parts but tend to stay clear of other players.

Survival:  List is a very light "Don't play".  I like it a lot but it takes quite a long time and trying to gear up so you can take down a Hunter especially alone these days makes it an unlikely win for me.  I choose to do other stuff instead.

Boss runs: If I come across them I do them but I don't go looking for them.  Find them pretty easy unless I do something dumb or am just really unlucky.

Do play:

Mainly Legendaries:  I like the challenge.  Can complete all with a halfway decent random team but need my strongest sets (usually Sentries currently).  Avoid Amethysts Apartment due to the running past half the bad guys parts but the rest are quite good.  Madison if fine until the last battle with the Hunter and the other Agents.  That hunter is so spongy it is unbelievable.  Gotta respect these though as I got smacked down a number of times on the UN one running Strike GE and face tanking with Nomad (in a team) and getting totally face planted  :4_joy: .

HVT now and then.  Usually do solo and it is rare to fail but the two hardest weeklies have been known to pop my survivor link now and then  :6_smile: .

Underground: This is not bad and have played to get my commendation score up recently.  You get to know all the room exits and which is likely after enough practice.  Facing off against the Hunters solo is also quite good and I have had one or two prolonged battles in a team that were also very good against the Hunters (ie the team were not overpowered for them).

Resistance I also like but with most players quitting after the second opening of the chest and just going to one fav spot for most of the rounds it gets pretty boring.  Rewards should have scaled better with difficulty to get players to take the risk and stick around.

The rest I play on and off if I fancy something a bit different.

  • PVP

Skirmish: Don't like. 4x4 pvp without much attempt of context or objects, not my thing
  • Last Stand: I liked it in the PTS. Drifted away afterwards. Since then, matching has been impossible, so gave up.
  • DZ: I like it. Somehow, I only PVE my way through it. Landmarks, drops et.al. I used to run with packs. Not sure what happened. But still, I like PVEing and worrying about being ganked. I'm weird *shrugs*

[*]Expansions

  • Survival: Like the context. Liket he feel. Like the idea. Don't like putting in a reasonable amount of time and then by bad luck it's all wasted in one fail. I play for rewards, so the time needs to be worth it. But still, there's a shield in it so looking forward to it.
  • Underground: The original, I loved. It was seriously good. But once again it lacked reward-love from the devs, and matching was hard... so... Going back to it has been good. But since the shield was a weekender, matching is drying up again.

[*]LZ

  • Bosses: It is quaint in its way, I enjoy it. Not what I log in for, but if I want the rewards, I like it.
  • HVTs: Like it within the context of rewards. Other missions are better but still good.

[*]Missions:

  • Legendaries: Love them. They're not to straight forward, challenging, learn new approaches sometimes.
  • Incursions: Harder to match.

Stolen Signal: Totally agree with @RimBlock, to pug through it is hopeless. I like a format that is still reasonable pug-friendly. I read that the devs liked the format of SS and see it as the way forward in TD2.
