Okay so one thing I found interesting in the beta is the same weapon with the same level but a different damage number, fire rate and ammo stay the same but the damage is different (not dps but damage).

take for instance the classic AK47. I did a review of one in the closed beta here with the last 2 mins being pvp gameplay.

i wasn't very much impressed by it however the version I got in the open beta had about 50 more damage combined with having two activated talents/perks for stability. This did generally improve the weapon a substantial amount (maybe twice as good) having 2 perks based around stability and damaged and a general damage increase.

in short. A weapon that can seem not great with a few attachments a bit of extra damage and the 1 beneficial talent or perk can actually be pretty good.

Anybody else have have experiances with this across the betas?

Yeah I kind of dig the fact that you can get the same weapon, but different stats.  I thought of it as, the better one was like a new gun or a well taken care of gun.  While the one with less damage was something that was stored and forgot about and not cleaned or maintained.  But thats just the RP side of me showing lol.  Great vid.

Yes, it is really the only way they can keep substantial variety with the weapons like you would find in other MMORPG's.

Take a game like WoW or ESO. It is easy for those developers to justify having 8 billion types of swords you can find (or craft) and equip.

For this, they have a base set of weapons and keeping with the authentic theme they just cannot make up different weapons.

About a year ago, I was wondering how they were going to handle this. Would we just be stuck with the same weapon forever until we progressed a few levels? I like the way they decided to handle this.
