Survival - new player/character

Sorta.

In survival you crash and loose all your stuff (that you get back when you exit survival) so you play the Survival game mode having to collect new stuff from scratch (everyone is on the same starting footing).

Nothing you find in survival can be taken out apart from caches if you manage to extract.

With Survival: can you play as a brand NEW player?
Meaning, can I keep my current player in normal missions and such, but create a new player/character, and play Survival? (sorry if this has already been answered).
Yeah, if you want to run a character specifically for the "upto" 2hr gameplay episodes Survival then there's no issue with that. Anything taken from the trips as Cashe's can be opened and added to your Stash and used on any other characters you have...BUT.. if you go in with a, for example, level 12 character you will only get appropriate level 12 gear out of any Cashe's you get awarded so you cant use a low level character to farm for your level 30.

Point: If you die in Survival it doesn't wipe your character or anything in the open world, you're just returned to the HUB with all equipment etc you had before you entered a Survival game session.

Imagine if you will that Survival is "Hunger Games" ... completely isolated from the rest of the game world but you get rewards for completing it.

Cashe types, numbers etc are awarded based on how good you did, survival rate, Mob kills, gear collected and if you get out again alive.

From everything I've heard, I think you have basically unlock the BoO (so around lvl 4) and then you can level your toon the rest of the way to 30 by only playing in Survival, if you like.  That being said, you don't have to dedicate a toon to Survival.

Everything that @RimBlock & @quinch1199 said is true and the XP you get in Survial will go towards your toon's normal LZ/character leveling.

Survival is not a good way to level a character  :12_slight_smile: .  There are much better and easier ways to do it.  I went from 1 --> 30 in two days, mainly just doing the main missions.  I needed to top off the last two levels via extra side missions but just go for the big XP ones.  Do a few of the other yellow / blue / green missions to unlock the kills you want as well and you are set.  2 --> 3 days it can be done, possibly quicker depending on how much time per day you are willing to dedicate to it.

That was all without any assistance or power leveling.  I think I only managed to find two fairly low level missions where I could matchmake with randoms at all.

Besides, you'd have to complete all the story missions and side crap to unlock the S&D missions for HVT intel, so it makes more sense to just go that route and kill two birds with one stone.
