Coming from mining stock, the core founders of The Wolf Pack found themselves trapped underground at the time of The Burning. Coming across a large wolf pack in the tunnels under the mountain they formed an uneasy alliance with the animals which grew mutually beneficial.   The time spent underground along with the plants scavenged and animals provided by the wolves as food to survive had an unexpected effect on those survivors.  They grew stronger, more muscular, became more attuned to their surroundings with better sense of smell and sight in the dark but the changes were no always good.  Sometimes one of the Wolf Pack succumbs to an intense bloodlust, boosting their strength and speed but dulling their senses and vision until all that remains around them is the bloody corpses of those who got in their way unless they are taken down first.

The bonds with the wolves still remain and you can sometimes hear a member of the wolf pack howling in to the night, to be answered by calls from native wolves on the island and sometimes, the wolves will join the fight.
