I am not one for forums but I  do like this game a lot but like destiny once you have reach end game unless you have armoured up you are FXX why did I not get to know this until I had reach level 30

I have  high end weapons but only 6647dps gear 142  so help me you get some power behind me

GRIND. Do the Dailys and get in the dark zone

Yeah I've just hit 30 myself. Go to your missions tab and do the dailies. 

That's the first step and should get you to 160+ real quick.
