I have seen the light on a new sniper rifle!

I have been running with a 163 gs M1A for weeks.  It does a 303K crit hit head shot and I love the fact that it is semi auto with no bolt action delay.  I had been searching for the higher high end version (182 gs) but to no avail and my DZ rank wasn't high enough to buy the blueprint.   Last night I decided on a whim to purchase the Custom M44 blueprint and give it a whirl after hearing several people talk about how they loved it.  I immediately went downstairs and crafted two of them and equipped the better of the two.  Let's just say I fell in love with it after the first bullet.  Ran a pulse scan and took a shot at a sniper on the balcony of lincoln tunnel.  Crit hit headshot did 503K damage!  Deconstructed the M1A on the spot while taking cover behind a taxi in the middle of a firefight!  SOLD

Noice! I have been looking for a new Sniper. I switched up to a LMG and it just isn't the same. My favorite build was having the SMG for close range and the semi auto sniper for mid and long. Thanks.

I too am a recent convert from the M1A. I think the M1A is the better of the two if you are going pure sniper. The semi automatic ability to pop off shots at near consistent HS accuracy (depending on your traits) makes it very flexible. You can also spam it up close if a mob gets in close. However, since I only snipe 5-10% of the time, the M44 is now my new sniper of choice. I don't even bother to extend the mag clip. I run all crit hit, HS, and crit dmg on it with just the base clip of 5. I think it's somewhere around 35% crit hit (not counting the 13% crit chance on mobs out of cover) with 300-350% HS bonus (sentry gear). A gold 204 can net you 175% base HS increase off the bat with 60kish base dmg with the proper gear. I'm sure there are folks with better stats. If we are approaching an open group of mobs at range, I pop pulse, lay out the first few mobs while my team moves in.. then I move in as well and take the rest with my SMG. With full team buffs I've seen HS crits at 1mil dmg. I've heard of people in the 1.3s. Most likely higher. Fun stuff.

It is an awesome sniper, I still prefer my purp first wave m1a. I'm lucky to run in a group with a high elec build player. with her pulse I was able to hit 1.5 mill with the first wave. I'm sure with the m44 I have id get 1.75 mill possibly. I break out he M44 if I plan I running slower (which I rarely do, because I lack the patience) and sniping npc or players in the dz from a greater range.

Note* with my pulse at 13000 elec I hit 678k with the first wave and 850k with the m44.

yeah bought the blue prints on that myself, built like 4 of them till I got a solid one. Crits for 500k... honestly would prefer it to be in the millions.
