One of my friends was asking for some help with doing some minor work with recalibrating and updating his character.  He suggested giving me his PSN sign on info and then having me tweak his character.  I don't have a problem doing that, but I wasn't sure how much character info is client side and how much is server side, so I wasn't sure that would work.  I thought share play might work, but am not positive.  Anyone have any info or suggestions on this?

That wouldn't be a problem. Just log in to his account from your PS4, play the game using that account, and the game will download his save data from the The Division server.

You then will play with his character.

Personally I'd just get on a joint comms system and talk him through it whilst you're in the same window as he is. Ideally have a browser open on a nearby PC or tablet so you can read him the different talent descriptions as he goes through them.

That's how I'd like to do it, where he's making the moves and doing the work and I'm just offering suggestions.  I was hoping that share play and a party chat would work and I could pull the talents and such up on my Surface.

I think that would help give him a better understanding of the process and how it works.  However, we both have a small window to play each week so either way it's hard to "sacrifice" play time for both of us to get things tweaked.

I still want to do some tweaking of my builds based on some gear I got near the end of the night last night.  I could possibly jump on and we could have a little recalibration party and both work on our builds together.

I'm interested how this turns out.  Keep updated if u are able to log in and tweak his character.

I might try share play first, because that would be a lot easier.  Otherwise I might go piece by piece with him and offer suggestions.  If I do it for him then he doesn't get a chance to see what the thought process is and how he could work on it in the past.

And if share play works, it could be a good way to help other players.  I probably wouldn't want to be making changes to someone's character that I don't know really well, but you could still flip through the player's gear and give them suggestions and your take on what they could do.  I could be DeadSockPuppet, character whisperer.

Why don't you just visit his house on your most convenient time after work or during weekend, let him demonstrate to you, then you evaluate it.

Do it the classic way, man. lol  :8_laughing:
