Whether they hired an actual masochist to write this idea or a happy 8-year old kid who just hatched this idea with a human toy and plastic car on each hand,

I totally wonder how this even passed the QA test, although the existence of the department in their office is very questionable until now.

I've been trying to overcome these RC cars and it's been not fruitful, except to climb up a platform that put on a higher level and this isn't always there.

In the middle of busy shooting and careful hiding. This thing comes fast sneaking past our attention. Here are the possible ways to overcome that have failed:

- Shoot at it. But it won't die on time. You'll die either by stray bullet, RC Car's explosion radius, or the flame from it.

- Run-n-combat roll. Visually, you can escape from the radius. But Massive's genius idea won't let me run. There's extra radius outside the red.

- Immunity Station. Flame won't burn you. The explosion will still kill you. So it's useless.

So how do you guys overcome these thing? I mean, seriously. Other than climbing on a platform and stay on the top.

Interesting.  I hear the RC cars were there either on a podcast or saw it in a post or something, I just figured it was true, you know, interwebs and truth...

Mostly what you said.

Platforms are the best. Even when they come up to the edge of the platform the fire doesn't get you. (I think they can go up stairs. maybe, it only happened to me once and I had my back turned, but it got me somehow)

You can shoot 'em but it is a desperate act. Though I find the edge of the blast is not as bad, so if youre desperate.. it can make the difference dead and just a little bit toasty. also helps your mates survive, and saves you a trip off your platform to have to revive them.

They make a particular "whrulll-whirlll" noise. So, when in cover, have a good view, good distance, and listen. Run early, run far. When you're trying to camp a spot they can come thick and fast. So, when I don't have a platform, I move back a bit, you need that advance warning to move fast.

Jump over things. they can't and don't go around so well.

Edit: I think it is the mechanic that releases them. so if you're team can , take him out first.

I'll let you know once I've played Underground. ?
You can try Hudson Refugee Camp Heroic.

There are a number of vids on YouTube showing a good method.

We run along the right edge of the top layer of the carpark to the other side and then jump down to the lower level and perch on the stack of boxes by the bottom of the stairs.

By the time we are all on, the enemy has usually spotted us.

  • Smart cover (damage mitigation, damage boost)
  • immu station (fire mitigation)
  • Ammo station (so you don't run out of ammo)
  • Pulse (Spot and deal more damage to the enemies)
Immu and Smart Cover are the most important.  It is sometimes wise to double up on those.  For the other two slots (out of 8 skills) then maybe another pulse, overheal (should heal you all on a double tap as you are all so close), revive or possibly a flashbang to get those pesky enemy out of cover to fill up.

Also, concentrate fire. 2+ shooting at a single enemy will take them down faster and a 90% dead enemy is still 100% combat effective.

A good skill power is obviously better.  I am currently running 26k (just done a bit of a swap around) and my immu station is almost always up.

Working with randoms can be very difficult when trying to organise these skills, if they will even communicate at all.  Shame you are on the PS4 or I 'd be happy to team up.

Working with a good team, even one where the common language is a bit shaky, can make a big difference.  Myself and another guy I play with a lot joined up with a couple of his friends and we basically walked through Dragons Nest on Heroic, 3 times in a row.  The only reset was when jumping down to the floor with the firetruck, I got stuck on the scenery and could not move. One of our team had a high level tach build and that probably made a massive difference.

I see. I haven't tried Smart Cover to fight this.

When I do Lincoln, it's always with randoms and they usually have separated camping post (which is not bad to divert enemy's attention).

Wah....  Dragons Nest is also not available for PS4 players yet ??.  Wow.  I knew Underground wasn't but this as well....

Dragons Nest is ok.  Farming the 4 horsemen is ok if you are after weapons.  Downstairs feels a bit Falcon Lost with the waves and APC... sorry Firetruck shooting.  Not an expert by any means but playing with them (Bear et al).  Have caught you on @Oh. daesu but you also tend to be pretty busy these days  :1_grinning: .

Smartcover is super strong if you have a high skill power.  It is ok for me at 26k, tachs with 56k are extremely powerful with this for their teams.

I did Lincoln tunnel on Heroic 4 times last night to farm PCs.  I was not aware it was 'the' PC farming run so was quite happy when I could match make fairly fast (unlike the Underground these days).  What I found is that two well geared players can pull a med and a low geared player through it fairly well.  I am now GS255 (needs a lot of fine tuning) and we ended up with another 255, a 220 and a 183.  The 183 went down a bit and I went down twice mainly to fire, but it was not that hard.  My 5 PCs went up to over 200 from those runs.  I dropped most the loot for the others as well as they are only 204 weapons and non-gear set items for the most part.  Was still quite fun.

Fully agree that splitting forces also splits attention of the AI.  Better to split in pairs though so someone can revive if the other goes down.

On a side note... did my first hardest Daily HVT solo over the weekend.  Had to run and gun to get 2 out of 3 of the last enemy before the boss came out before the timer expired but made it.  Got some 240 Lonestar  :31_neutral_face: .  Pretty pleased though as lack of ammo, concentration of enemy fire or the timer had always stopped me in the past.

Dragon Nest is not available yet for PS4.

But the freaking RC Car is available to kill you in Lincoln Tunnel 'Heroic'.

Do you think it is worth you writing up yours and Bear's experience and approach to DN heroic in Strategies and Builds ? Give the ps4ers something to read before it drops.

I actually have a DXTory recording setup on the PC so could probably record the incursion in glorious 1440p.

Probably wont be much commentary unless I record a monologue track explaining what we are up to over the top.  As your pretty much aware, my place can be pretty noisy with our 4 young kids running around and 'she who must be obeyed' asking where her mobile phone is  :1_grinning: .

I see what we can pull together when I next bump in to him.

Why would the RCA cars be in heroic Lincoln Tunnel, I thought they were a Cleaner weapon and those are rioters in that mission.

Sounds good (no pun intended)

:10_wink:

Think he was talking about Hudson Yards and I was talking about Dragons Nest but we also wondered on to Lincoln tunnel which is unrelated to RC cars, unless they chose to put a RC car racing feature and then the tunnel may be appropriate  :10_wink: .

The RC cars are only noticeable to PS4 users on Queens Tunnel on Heroic. I, personally, didn't see them - or was fortunate to avoid them - and the only difference was a couple of the Four Horsemen [named] bosses.

I forgot the name. Basically the mission ends up with falling tanker.

Flash Banging the engineer will stun the Rc. Also the big explosion sticky will kill it if you see it coming.

We need the hack a turrent talent or gear that lets you take over their stuff.
