"I remember the day it happened, though the build-up would put into view of how devastating it was."
"The week of Thanksgiving, my fiancé got the Ultrasound back. When she came home her face was the happiest I've ever seen, I asked her if we knew the gender of it yet. She hugged me and laughed. 'A boy' she told me. I was elated, I picked her up and spun her around gently. When I put her down she whispered to me 'and a girl.' I remember the smile I had on my face was from ear to ear. I cried tears of joy and told her I loved her.
"We were getting things ready for Thanksgiving, since it was our sort of house-warming party as well. I got the turkey and gravy and all the minuet little food stuffs of the holiday. We were debating whether to tell each other's parents separate, or to get all four of them together and tell them all at once about the twins. She got onto the phone with her friend when I heard the noise. All the color of my fave flushed to a ghastly paleness. The feeling of dread sank into my heart as I looked toward my wrist. "
"Ever since, I've hated the color orange, and I've especially hated The Watch and The Badge."
