Pretty much everyone (except the asshat trolls) agrees that the DZ is broken, or at the very least not functioning as Massive had intended it to (leave it to your player base to break your shit). Anyways, so I was thinking about when we might see changes to the DZ. I was listening to the last SotG of the year and was reminded that ETF Beta is around mid-January, so I'm not expecting an update to DZ until about the 1-yr mark for the game.
Using update 1.4 and how they handled that, I'd guess that following schedule might be close to their timetable:
1.)1/11-1/13: ETF Beta
2.)1/14-1/23: Review ETF results and create 1.6 PTS build 1
3.)1/24-1/30: 1.6 wk 1 PTS on PC
4.)1/31-2/6: 1.6 wk 2 PTS on PC
5.)2/7-2/13: 1.6 wk 3 PTS on PC
6.)2/14-2/20: 1.6 wk 4 PTS on PC
7.) 2/21-2/27: Finalize 1.6 & get cleared for release on platforms
8.) 2/28: 1.6 out for XB1/PC and probably 3/3 for PS4 because Sony has been slow on pretty much everything else
Couple thoughts on this:
1.) There may be more or less than 4 weeks for PTS, but that's what they used for 1.4 to fix PvE and while they're working on DZ/PvP, they have to make sure it doesn't break PvE in the process
2.) Somewhere in the next 2-3 months Last Stand will release, we don't know if it will be before, with, or after 1.6, but we'll have to assume there will be at least minor changes that will need to be made for it to work with 1.6 (this leads me to believe it will release with or after 1.6)
3.) Wildlands drops 3/7 so some of the player base (myself included) will move to Wildlands for some or all of their TC gaming time so hopefully it will alleviate some of the troll factor in the DZ.
So, I'm guessing everyone else has some thoughts on this and I'm curious as to what they might be.
