Changing DPS at random times

Still working on my builds but I have been confounded by my DPS stats seeming to randomly change after encounters and while equipping different weapons.  An example, when I equip my gold P416, the DPS for it an my gold Vector increase signifcanly.  However if I pull the gold P416 and replace it with another weapon, the DPS drops on both the now equipped weapon and the Vector.  I do not see in any of my equipment boost stats/talents or perks to account for this.  Am I missing something?  Any help is appreciated.

I've seen this too and i dont get it either, wish i had an answer but i do not know why this happens either..

Don't concentrate on your DPS too much for its numbers, you could have such a low shocking DPS yet you hit so hard with a AUG but then have a High DPS with another assault rifle and hit a shockingly low amount of damage. I think this whole DPS Thing is still in the works because its a complete brain twister.
