Play style/classes

Oh. daesu

agent provocateur
So far, my playstyle is shown as "Ranger". And I've seen others with "Overwatch". Plus those startiing seem to be Grunts.  I'm guess that initially a fair few players (those who try to be tactical/stealthy) will natural lean on the sniper riffle.

Out of curiosity, I tried to find a list of possible playerstyles. Below is an unofficial list, for what's it worth. However I was curious if anyone here has a different play style?

Silent Tactician Close Combat (Raider)

Silent Tactician Soldier (Commando)

Silent Tactician Sniper (Ranger)

Silent Impulsive Close Combat (Headhunter)

Silent Impulsive Soldier (Gurkha)

Silent Impulsive Sniper (Scout)

Loud Tactician Close Combat (Gunslinger)

Loud Tactician Soldier (Grunt)

Loud Tactician Sniper (Overwatch)

Loud Impulsive Close Combat (Rakkasan)

Loud Impulsive Soldier (Marauder)

Loud Impulsive Sniper (Musketeer)

I remember I was Rakkasan in Closed Beta and Gurkha in Open Beta.

Now I'm Grunt. How the heck using binoculars first, then KO and/or pistol headshot NPC are considered as 'Loud Tactical Soldier'? lol

They should have taken Undetected KO score into account.

ok, that's interesting. I guess I'd like to try and get a different style other than overwatch/ranger, just to be different.

I was Rakkasan in the Closed Beta most likely because I keep jumping into online sessions and you know how people are. They went in loud and I did too in the end.

While 'Gurkha' title in the Open Beta was likely attained after playing with a my friend and I decided to split the roles where he was the recon and I was the sniper. But either one of us would screw up in the end and turned the whole thing into an open fight because we wouldn't leave our spot.

As for 'Grunt', apparently Recon + Sneak in to KO/Pistol Kill is exactly my current play style for both my characters and both of them are 'Grunt'.

My tactical and stealth are improving, but my sniper rifle is still considered a fav even though I haven't picked i up in such a long while. Mainly ARs SMGs but not a high kill rate.

I've still yet to settle on a primary mid-close range weapon.

I keep picking up new weapons but I'm struggling to find anything that's as good as the M4 or even 416. I recently got the Vector as I have a serious bromance with the design but I found it was TERRIBLE even at close range. 25 round magazine and a huge RoF but seemingly still poor damage against foes like UNIDAD. I can generally take down even an alerted UNDAD trooper with three rounds from the M4 but I need two bursts from the Vector.

I ... want ... to like the Mk17 but it just feels too heavy to bring to bear fast when needed.

Suggestions perhaps?

I'm not sure if there is one, but have you tried looking for a short barrel for it?  You lose some accuracy and range (maybe damage) but it can make the gun much faster to bring to bear, especially for CQB.

Now that's a good idea, I'll give it a go. I'm currently swapping between the G28 & M14 as my DMR and between AK-12 & M4A1 as my AR.

Question is what is "long" or "short" range in the game, I rarely engage over 300m in actuality as I generally need to ensure a one-shot-one-kill scenario and I'm always concerned with power drop off for the smaller calibre rounds the DMR's fire over the larger rounds like the .303 or 0.5's the other bolt action sniper riles fire.

Also... Tactical Planning is up to 90% now...

Just installed the update on PS4.

Now Pistol is recognised as favorite weapon in my game stats. It didn't work that way previously. Only GRN recognized, as you can see in my earlier post.

And for some reason, my title turned into Overwatch.

And I just realised that the stat is shared between characters... I thought it wasn't.

I'm a fan of the M4A1 and the G36.  There's another AR that I've been using too, but I don't remember off the top of my head what it is.

Take a look at the ACR assault rifle, this has been my mainstay. I recently tried the M4 but went back to the ACR. I have it with ext mag(50), grenade launcher, trigger is full/semi in which I have used it like a sniper at around 300 m with no problem.  It is one of the highest damage guns in the assault rifle class.  Just some food for thought.
