What is 'Penetration' stat in a gun?

Ability to penetrate armor wearing NPC like those UNIDADDY?
and scenery such as metal roof's or cladding etc. Most of the base guns will go through the corrugated metal (one thickness) but this also effects your ability to take down vehicles. For example my G36 or the P416 are just terrible at taking out helicopters but the SIG556 will shoot a large helicopter down REALLY fast.

Damn! This game goes that far.

Thanks!

Yup! often you will be taking cover and start getting hit...then you realise...all that's between you and the enemy fire is 3-4mm of mild steel and its not going to stop jack being fired at you! Luckily it goes both ways and you can kill enemy hiding behind similar cover.

Pity I cant fit a suppressor to the 556 but as its a free weapon unlocked with Uplay points I just carry it for when the mission turns from stealth to "loud"...but mainly I use it for antivehicle use...two magazines and I can shoot down two chasing helicopters!

UNIDAD with body armour are a little tricky but heavier calibre guns do take them down faster but they still get protection. I'm waiting to find and use the P90 to see if they've given it the anti-armour ammunition it gets in military use or normal rounds.

Oh! and floors.... up on a metal gantry...the floor won't offer much protection either. One of the missions I got up on a gantry/bridge and suddenly i'm taking damage, only after I'm dead do we all realise its a guy UNDERNEATH us firing up through the floor at us!

Just finished Ocoro as my second region.

AI teammates are handy once you know how to deal with the commands. Before entering a hostile area, I always put them in secluded area and ask them to put on Hold. Then I will recon and sneak in alone, KO-ing everyone in sight.

When I get busted, I become Leon the Professional. Luring enemies into open area or corners and then BAM! Or make enemies go through tight area together, then throw a grenade to cook them.

When things gone foxtorted, I switch to Fire command and let the backup started.

I love this game.

One thing....the Ai enemies never spot your Ai team mates...no matter how close or in the open they are. They only respond if being fired at by them, likewise your Ai friends only fire if being fired on .. they will NEVER shoot to save you.

unless you're already down.  then they'll attempt to clear the immediate ai to get to you.

What I found is that they can spot my AI teammates, but require a closer range.

I got busted more than once just because my teammates were a bit closer to the hostile zone. That's why now I make sure to put them on Hold a bit far away and in the bushes.

I like to scout the entire target area and then use the AI to sync shot and clear the towers and perimeters.   Makes it easier to get into the heart of the target and clear it out.  I also use the Fire command when things go sideways, but I prefer to be stealthy and go all Hitman if I can.

Ok so let me get this straight:

- grab enemy + knock out button = smack in the head with pistol butt. Considered as 'Take Down'.

Meanwhile..

- behind to unaware enemy + knock out button = breaking neck. Considered as 'Take Down'

Wtf ubi. Why would you break someone's neck to knock the living being out of them???

Isn't the knock out delivered at the base of the skull, not the cranium, which can go either way.

As for intention , I think the line is between being a captive and a hostile.

I have literally had one of my Ai Team mates stand immediately next to my Ai target I wanted to get intel from and .... nothing... that said, could be region level dependant perhaps?

It also seems the Ai team members can't count past 15...

Officially the "knock out" is open to interpretation deliberately, be it in your own mind if the person lives or dies.

A funny thing happened on the way to a weapon crate. I caught a UNIDAD tail (a couple) and as I just passed a Cartel hold-out area I drove into the woods and dumped the car, I lost the UNIDAD car chasing me but I watched from afar in binos. They parked up in the Cartel compound and suddenly jumped out...ruthlessly gunned down all the Cartel people (and I mean ruthlessly and with total efficiency!) and then started hunting me again!

Amazing stuff...sometimes the UNIDAD actually do their jobs it seems.

Seriously, sometimes I knock cartel mobs out instead of planting lead at their head because I have my pity on them.

But no mercy for Unidad. those guys are total ass.

they're the ultimate Trolls! Always spoiling nicely laid out ambushes by managing to spot you hiding on the side of the road...swine.

An unsilenced HTI eats Unidad and their vehicles any time of the day.  And since they're dicks, you don't feel bad wrecking them.

Anyone know how the game determine whether we are Tactical or Stealth?

Mine stuck at 45-47 for both and I always recon first, then maybe snipe if necessary, otherwise do a stealth KO. My class is Grunt now. During the Beta I was something else because I always recon, snipe, and repeat.

What I've read somewhere; the use of binoculars and drones relates to your Tactical score.

Guess stealth might be by your status. I.e engaged, hunted == not so stealthy

Can the score be decreased if I enter hostile zone without scouting?

I'm assuming its a percentage score so yes, adding unscouted zones to the count would decrease your score. This is assumption though.

EDIT - My tactical score has gone up from 50-something to 71% as I've been scouting ahead of my team more these days. Due to that my Stealth Kills score has gone down a little because I'm not killing many until AFTER alarms are raised (I'm spotting for two snipers who are killing most who can be killed stealthily).
