Isn't there a license to for automatic weapon's? I know you can own automatic firearm's made before the 80's. But I'm not sure about any modern one's.
yeah to own not shoot it, i asked around.

in arkansas they let you walk around with a loaded AK no license but missouri is like permits papers and a wall of tape. i have to drive like 4 hours to go shoot.

im gonna have to sell it, its just i can't, still waiting for that one robber, just kidding :)

but for real, if you robbed me and i pulled that out, bet you would turn around and walk away right.

i know id be like fuck that, have a good day.

Oh it's fully automatic, yeah unfortunately civilians can't own fully automatics without going though tons of red tape.

You don't even need the license here in Ohio. You only really need a license for concealed carry and I'm pretty sure we allow full auto. All we do here is background check's. Literally no gun control here. We still get the occasional crazy with a gun. But who doesn't?

I'm sure in California it's ridiculous (condolences). In other places its not as bad. The only real caveat is that you're basically allowing the ATF to raid your house (spot check) any time they want. That's not really something I want to agree to.

Oh, also, thanks for adding me yesterday. I'm diggin' this place.

Yep, pretty soon in Commufornia folks who own AR-15's (like myself) will either be registering them as Assault Weapons or not complying and basically committing a felony by having them.

No problem, glad you're enjoying the forums.

I can only assume the registration is for eventual confiscation. But remember, the folks in New York chose not to comply and I haven' heard much since then but I don't think the state had much footing after that. If people adhere to unconstitutional laws, they'll have a hell of a time ever getting them back. I'm sure you already know that. A nerve racking decision either way that you shouldn't even be having to make in the first place.

I lived there for 28 years man, born and raised. There came a point that I just couldn't take the traffic, cost of living, the hippies (lol), the smog, or those gun laws anymore. I moved one state over about 8 years ago and never looked back. I only roll through Cali these days to visit friends but I come right back afterward. I never overstay my welcome there. I don't care to be in the company of all those commies for too long lol. Always feel like I'm going to get arrested for something because I don't even know what's legal or illegal there anymore haha.

This article is a nice aftermath of what happens when everyone comes together and just refused to comply with nonsense that accomplishes nothing:

Just move here to Ohio or some other pro-gun state. You can open carry when you please. I would never move to somewhere so restrictive of firearms. I'll stay where I have the most freedom thank you very much.

You don't have to have licenses to own stuff like Crossbows, Black power rifles, and muzzle loaders there too do you?

Yeah, this place really is over rated. I'd move for pretty much all the same reasons as you, only reason I don't is I run a business out here and all my family is here. I assume you moved to Nevada, my sister lives out there and I love visiting. Very gun friendly state. I always open carry when I'm there, I feel like such a tourist haha.

That is correct, it's also very business friendly along with no state tax. (I gotta business myself along with a regular job)  California tried to collect taxes from me for two years after I left there and I didn't even show employment or residency there anymore . I got real close to suing that franchise tax board, bunch of criminals. They eventually backed off after a ton of paperwork I had to send to them.

Well I'm not sure what your business is exactly, but if it would work out here, it might be worth the jump over in the future one day. It's hard to uproot yourself and the family but man is it worth it in the long run. ;)

The time the Great Lakes Region usually have them in June-August. There are a few in the winter. Indiana I know usually has stuff. Watched something of when they reenacted Battle of the Bulge.
Thats tight, I don't know of any in my area. Unfortunately I live in California where everyone is shamelessly liberal so anything that involves wars and battles doesn't really happen here.

I figure you would have to go over a state or two to seen anything good. I missed it last year, but there's a D-Day reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio, right on Lake Erie. Beach and everything. I think I was told it's the largest reenactment in the country? History channel came out one year to film.

Found a link for it, I'll have to go this year and post back. http://www.ddayohio.us/

I also may be shooting a few different weapons here in a few weeks, so I may post a few things from then too.

Quick update, I'm going to be going shooting the weekend before Easter weekend. April 7-8. This will be my first time. I know how to handle firearms, just never pulled the trigger. (I feel I can partially blame this on having liberal parents.). Family friends property on the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. Been there before, probably the most remote place I've ever been. Acres of woods, few freshwater creeks, no wifi. We all need disconnected sometimes.

So far he's told me I'll be firing these, he didn't specify which exact models, but this is what I am told. .22 Marlin rifle, .22 Single Action (revolver), 20 gauge shotgun, M1911, funny story with this 1911. He's told me previously that during Vietnam we reassembled some 1911's for world war 2. This being one of them, the frame is during Vietnam, the slide is WW2 era. SKS, I believe he said one of the Chinese Surplus ones? Has the AK mag conversion? .308 Winn rifle, possibly .357 Mag revolver, and he mentioned something about an AR-15, but may not happen. I realize quite a few people may not know I'm underage, I'm 16 Easter weekend.

I'll defiantly post some stuff from that weekend.
