After a couple weeks I went back into the game last night, with the intent of actually playing and not just collecting my season pass supply drops.  I didn't do anything special, just ran a handful of single phase, 2 directive hard mode UG missions (I'm only lvl 13 in UG and I was the party leader).  I did get a 3rd piece of AB for my main toon, so now he has the +100% healing, which heals him 12k/sec and so far I'm liking that when running the directive that allows one skill at a time (7 med kits and fast healing allow me to use my Smart Cover most all of the time).

I eneded up matchmaking and running mostly with players around GS 210 or so (my main is 249).  The first run two players dropped almost immediately so I carried a 209 through and we did alright, again, it was only hard mode so no real difficulty.  The next 2-3 I ran had at least 1 other 240ish player, so we did fine.

Everything I received that I could share I dropped for the other players.   Aside from crafting mats or recal funds, there wasn't anything I got that I could use.  And I still managed to get some mats and funds from the items I couldn't share.

I ended up going from lvl 12 to almost lvl 14, so I progressed a little and got a cache that had a 229 Military G36 which rolled 10.2k DMG and competent (recal to deadly), brutal and focused.   I'm not using the G36, because my 204 tach mk16 and 229 PP-19 have better talents and damage so they're still more effective.

All in all, it was a good time and hopefully I was able to help gear up the lower GS players some.  Nothing I received and was able to share was spectacular, but sharing is caring, right?  It was nice to come back to the game and help others out, since I didn't really want to put in the time or effort to do much to help increase gear on my toon (like DZ or challenge mode on incursions).

I'm looking forward to 1.4 dropping and seeing what they do with the game.  And I'm curious to see exact dates for the remaining DLC and what will come with them.   I'm still a little salty about PS4 probably not getting the remaining DLC until maybe Decemeber (Survival) and then sometime hopefully before Wildlands (Last Stand) and that XB1 early release for the first two DPC turned into PS4 sucking hind teet.

Lol damn quitters.

Hate being leader. You have to really watch them. They bail at the last possible  moment. I tried to watch, see if they are hesitating. Once you hit the train , you can't rematch like a Mission.

The other funning thing, is people bailing on the first fail in the UG. Missions and incursions, there is a fair chance people will stay in the group and try again. In UG, goneski.

Last night i had a group which done the first phase with ease. While three of us supported one guy  breaking into the next area, some cleaners spawned from behind. Things got toasty, team died.

It's rare but it happens.

Everyone quit. Lol.

I would never, ever, ever, EVER quit in the middle of an underground mission.

...unless you turn on Sickness.  In that case, peace.

I'm only lvl 14/15 so I only have the first 2 directives, fog of war and the skill one.  I don't find either of them too troublesome and I've played with waste not and it wasn't a huge issue, although I had LS x4 on my toon.  I could just learn to run my mags dry so I don't have issues with it.  I haven't played the last 2 directives.

The current fav combo for most groups is 1,3,4,5 (mad skills)

You could ask the group how many directives they have and set the highest as lead.

The directives are not bad at lower difficulty levels.  Mad Skillz is a massive PITA at Heroic especially if someone props their sig skill as everyone else gets also the cool down.

  • Fog of war is pretty much ok apart from that time a shotgunner sneaks around back and comes up behind you...
  • Mad Skillz I tend not to use on Heroic at all and know lots of people hate it at that level of difficulty.
  • Waste Not Want Not is pretty manageable at lower levels, having alt weapons, Lonestar and a supply cache all help to combat at higher levels.
  • Special forces I actually quite like as it adds some challenges but is based on you getting hit rather than for the whole set of phases.
  • Sickness is fine and easily countered with healing stations and overdose.  Overdoes can also be used to speed up cool downs so double win.  This can turn a two shot and your dead in to a one shot if you don't keep an eye on it though.  The bug with sickness and the blind weapon talent applying blind to you all the time is a major irritation if you use that talent (I like to on the pistol).
For hard mode I would run with all but for heroic, usually just 1,4,5 and sometimes 3.

Waiting for 1.4 before really getting back in to the game though.  Working on something else in the mean time.
