Classified - Drop Rates - Div Tech

Oh. daesu

agent provocateur
They're talking about Classified drop rates and how to improve this. Plus how people feel about the availability of DivTech.

What's your opinion?

Drop rate needs to change?

Another option on how drops can occur?

Happy with your rate of DivTech?

If there's a survey I'll post a link.

There needs to be more div tech in the LZ... Div Tech in the DZ is ok but maybe amend the div tech bracket for sealed caches, a lot of the time i get just as much from a purple as i do a gold.  And more DT for completing landmarks...

more classy in the LZ as well, maybe im unlucky but i get jack shit form the LZ bosses/incursions ..

i think they need to start adding classy gear to the vendors as well..

Drop rate for the new weapons seem pretty low.

Running Resistance today I got a standard green and a crappy MedVed (as in very low score).  This was a lot better when 1.8 first dropped.

My, off the top of my head, suggestions.

  • Add a classified chest for Legendaries & incursions (ClearSky may be a problem here due to fast completion rate).
  • Add Legendaries to vendors but up to a max GS limit (say 265).
  • Increase DTech as levels increase in Resistance to promote people staying around longer.
  • DTech reward for Underground missions completion and Hunter kills.
  • Higher chance of Classifieds from Hunters in underground but, possibly, make them a bit more difficult.
  • Give Classifieds in chests with 3 pieces of different sets.  You can choose 1.
  • Drop rate for LZ bosses on Classifieds is probably about right.  They are not really difficult these days.
  • DTech for daily targets (ie. 5xHVT of a particular level or higher / 20 missions to get the intel for HVT / All LZ bosses killed within a set time etc).

I think this game has a habit of offering what people want (i.e.whats relevant to end game) with only the new content, but not the existing content. The old content remains unaffected, which means it becomes irrelevant for EG purposes. Underground is a good example. I enjoyed this DLC so much at release of the DLC, but it become irrelevant to EG with future patches. Which makes it pointless and hard to group (since it is pointless EG content for others as well). And "hard to group" is a true killer. If it really isn't worthwhile solo, content-wise.

So, Resistance is where the Classie is at.  Everything else is practically not. DZ remains the even ground, and UG has been brought up, but rest of the game...

In 1.8, they finally brought Underground up to the meaningful EG drops . For a while UG  languished with irrelevant drops for EG. This has been corrected. LZ and HVT needs o be address and not left to languish as it has been. I guess HVT could be decided just something that "non EGamers" use to get there leg up. Fair enough, however, non DZers need a chance at Classie and DivTech. So why not allow HVT a chance to play a part in that balance.

Just a Note: I keep hearing that bosses (DZ,LZ,HVT,SupplyDrops) all have a chance of Classie drops. However my experience and what I read, LZ and HVT never have that . (HVT is know for EIR and HILRD drops, like LZ has ShortBow,Caduceus,Tenebrae).  So, it seems bumpkin.

I think that HVT and LZ need to also be brought up to what is relevant for EG.

So , yeah, provide DivTech for LZ et.al.

I think Legendaries and Heroics already have DivTech which can't be over farmed since they come from once a week Exotics. So allowing LZ to be moderately farmed for DivTech provides a balance. So, leave that as it is. Let LZ and HVTadd to pve player's access to DivTech.

UG offers Hunters as access to Classie. So really HVT could do the same thing. When you accept a he more difficult top tier HVT, you run the chance of having Hunters try to intervene. Effectively means more challenge with more rewards.

DZ is already good for DivTech. Mobs  drop DivTec as well, so there is more that what it seems.

Another Note: During the GE4 the drop rate seemed fantastic, though afterwards it has been a desert. RNG is hard to guess but reading others comments I suspect variances in the drop rate between GE and now

As I rarely traveled to the DZ, before 1.8 - and yet I still had almost 600 DT prior to 1.8.  The current drop rate is less than 10% of the pre-1.8.  They need to add DT to all the loot tables everywhere.  Most of my DT is from deconstruction - class gear and exotics seem to get at least one.  Gearset stuff is more random with highend weapons having a small chance.  But with the amount of "normal" gear that drops - I generally have enough DT for optimization twice a week.  That means it will be years before I have one fully optimized set.

UG is fun but pointless as noted by others.

The resistance really requires a balanced group - I mostly solo and my gaming time is in general frequent but short (hour or 2 most nights). So for me, not really doable.

While I got most of my class gear in the global events, a fair amount drops from LZ bosses - for me that is a 20 to 40 min run to take them all.

I hate having the DZ to be a requirement for anything - especially extractions.  As I suck at PvP as while I play on a PC I use a controller.

As the end game has moved to optimized classified gearsets and weapons - DT is the controlling factor.  Not having DT in all loot tables means that those areas will be mostly ignored by players.  To bad as all areas are still fairly fun.
