    Maybe try running S.M.A.R.T. software. Seagate has a disk utility called SeaTools. That may be the easiest way to test it.

    Like gene said. I suspect a dying SSD. That, or you're S.M.A.R.T. software is being a dumbass. Or both. Try replacing that SATA cable, and maybe plug in another drive if you have one spare.

    Ok, try this: Right click on the speaker in system tray, open the context menu, and select "Playback devices". Open the "Communications" tab. There's only one option, "When Windows detects communications activity:" select "Do nothing."
