story mission level help

Hi can someone help me with the game mechanics , ive been playing some story missions and some dark zone group stuff and ive hit level 21 .​

 I still have level 18 story missions to do and im not getting the same experience and the loot i get seems to be lower quality is that anything to do with me being level 21 and doing level 18 missions ?​

yes, try playing missions on hard mode..tougher enemy's but better drops

yes i think i might start again , because im not getting any purple gear all i get is blue crap , i killed hornet the russian consulate boss and got a blue sniper rifle crap , so iwent on you tube to see what other people got and it was alwas puple gear some high end gear .

If you saw them getting high end gear (gold stuff), then they were playing it as one of the daily challenges. You have to reach level 30 for that. I have never seen a high end drop on the regular story missions.
