Unlocked the weapon skins last night ... Ohhhh... yes, these are ones I've been waiting for as a give away. Much more like what I want in the game. I wonder if they'll be offering up more camo gear clothing etc as prizes soon?

According to this guy who dug the files, there are more gun paints (camo and metallic) as well as military-themed emblem patches, which I personally am very happy with. I love patches and I approve design that are applicable for my military-background character instead of cute fox and medieval helmet.

Considering we've had one T-Shirt as prize (except us PS4 players thanks to the absurd kill count requirement) and there's one more to come, there is definitely possibility for camo clothings. We will have face paint and ghilly suit (I saw someone shared it after his challenge was glitched and jumped to Week 6) as rewards during the Yeti challenge on Week 6. We will get another face paint in Season 2, which is Santa Blanca themed challenge. So yeah, please keep supporting the challenge by playing.

Seems so.

Ubi knows how to roll money.
Honestly, doesn't worry me that way. I guess it is like product placement, but not like an exclusive placement (i.e hero always seen driving an Audi). Just the background items are real .

Personally I'm all for MORE product placement! If you're going to start introducing genuine patterns from real life suppliers you're going to keep a lot of military fans playing the game very happy.

I'm not a huge fan of the patches as I see them of limited use. I'd happily scrub the metallic finishes as well. If Ubisoft concentrated on bringing more camo patterns as uniform items it could go a long way to helping its credibility.

Yeah, I think the nature of the game is suitable to a diversity of rl military styles. Their guns and parts are suited for the enthusiasts. Not too pop art and gimmicky. The division is more make believe by comparison, and the look and feel is not as important as the effectiveness than the wildlands. The wildlands you can indulge more in the look and style than concerns around dps, ead and whatnot.

They have their paid-for cosmetic items but rewards can touch on those than undermine. Plus if they just touch on styles they get a chance to see what has a bit of a following.

I personally also like non military clothing. The ghost aren't supposed to be 'seen'. So I like to dress them as civilians to blend in during off mission.

Sadly, not even that option is well supported. They had to go somewhere else to please "hey look at how funny I am" crowd.

Just to add, I'm aware there are many 'casual' attire in the game and offered in store. But they're not exactly 'subtle' in taste and 'combat' ready. I can't really explain what I have in mind.. so forget it.

First timer on the forum, purely because I've just found out about it.

I like this weeks challenges better compared to the last two. Not sure if just me or if the general consensus agrees.
Well, as a PS4 user, I do agree for the Community Challenge that it's now much do-able compared to last week's "snipe 1million soldiers from 300m away".

Anyway, welcome and please share your stuff in our humble GRW forum here.

There is a PERFECTLY acceptable way to make both points of view happy and let it easily fit with the background setting of Wildlands.

1)      Pure military: Genuine camo gear, paint skins, camo patterns etc

2)      PMC (Private Military Contractor): This is a mix of practical clothing, jeans, t-shirts, baseball caps etc but also plain military gear such as Olive Drab, also often high end LBV’s (Load Bearing Vests) or Plate Carriers that aren’t available to regular armed forces.

3)      Locally sourced gear…now you can have fun BUT the player has to unlock these through gameplay/collectables: Anything from rough and ready clothing like Santa Blanca hoodies, T-shirts, Chi-Com AK assault vests, trainers ADD to this a pile of flashy weapon skins such as skull motif’s, flame paint jobs …go mad! What would a coked-up Cartel gunman paint on his weapon in his boring down time?? Sky is the limit!

Now, the in-game differences could potentially be minor but apply to spotting (if people wanted a real in-game mechanics benefit beyond aesthetics) .

1)      Military gear – bonus to not being spotted in open ground at range.

2)      PMC – minor bonus to not being spotted in open ground, minor advantage to not being spotted closer up

3)      Local gear – huge bonus to not being spotted up close but easily spotted in open ground for example.

Welcome to the forums! We're harder to find but worth the effort lol!

I'm sat here waiting for the next load of challenges, PC players completed all ours a few days ago.

I do like the idea of being able to have eithrr a SB or Bolivian look.

Mix and match SB clothing and even Rebel clothing as well as UNDAD gear if you wish...or go the full-on undercover mode with full SB or UNIDAD so you can infiltrate specific bases (as long as you WALK, have weapons holstered etc).

Well, I'm still waiting for my denim vest. :/

I mean, Narco Road was about Santa Blanca and all but they didn't give me no Santa Blanca soldier's vest.

Not even a Santa Blanca heavy gunner's black army helmet either.

Death Rider's leather jacket? Also nope.

But more reskinned, unmodifie-able guns are available instead. And 4 sets of outfit that makes my female character looks like a drug junkie entering the wrong disco club.
