All I know even if you play solo or with a team . It does get harder the higher the level & the best way to play solo or with teammates is try on story or normal first to see how it will play out first. Then try it on a higher level like hard to see if you can defeat Keener. If that is too hard go back to story or normal and play it out that way. Don't always play it on a higher levels  just to get better rewards.......because it just might not work out the way you think & you might not get the rewards you want on harder levels. I played it on a lower level like story or normal just to defeat Keener and didn't go for better rewards. Because to me I didn't think it was worth it if you're going die dozens times & get a reward or rewards that I might or might not want at the end.
