Me and my friends went manhunt in the beta. holy crap it was the best time ever! The thrill, People everywhere trying to kill you.

However Iam a bit dissapointed on the reward. it's like super high risk for medium reward.

I'm with you on that Niklas. It's also way too high penalty for 20 second Rogue. I kept having people walk in front of my barrel while engaging AI. Got that 20 second Rogue status and lost 3 Dark Zone Keys as well as 250 Credits when they put me down.

I've yet to survive a manhunt. Also hawk, watch your fire haha.
I have yet to survive a fucking 20 second rogue marker!

Its like I hit people by accident, and then the whole server decides to flip a coin to see who is the next in line to give me a beating into the next century!

i love hunting rogues more than being rogue....as for the low reward for going rogue. for the story line, its against the Directive 51 order by going rogue, so why would they give you a high reward for doing it? just saying :)

If they don't make the reward worthwhile and greatly outweigh the punishment for being killed as a rogue, you will rarely see people going rogue. That makes it less fun for all of us.

it still wouldn't go with the story line. .its frowned upon to go rogue..they even give a warning to you in game when you go rogue. you are basically turning into the thing you are there to fight in the first place...how does that warrant a high reward? your reward for going rogue, and the whole idea behind going rogue is to take other players gear, not to get a high reward for surviving rogue status. if that was the case then people would just kill someone and run and hide just to get the reward at the end, and the entire zone would be rogue..what fun is that?

I understand it doesn't quite fit with the storyline.

I think the most fun was in battles with other agents. In order to have that, there has to be people going rogue. However, as an example, one time when I was killed as a rogue, I lost 2600 DZ credits, 2900 DZ experience, and 8 DZ keys. Why would I ever want to risk that kind of punishment?

Taking loot is fun, but without knowing exactly what you are getting it is really risky.

I just think there should be more incentive for going rogue. It should still be punished if you die, and I am fine with the severe punishment. But in comparison, half the time when I survived as rogue I got between 150-400 DZ credits. Compared to the potential of losing 2600... yeah, F that.

i understand what you are saying. but its meant to be a risk to go rogue.  if it wasn't a high risk for going rogue, you would have an entire zone full of rogue players, people camping dz entrances, and a whole bunch of grieving, just to get the high reward for going rogue. in my opinion it would be a cluster F lol.  and i would never play in the DZ because of it, it wouldn't be fun to me to get killed the second i entered the zone.

I agree to a point. I'm okay with the severe punishments, which I think will still discourage people from going Rogue every chance they get. But if you have those severe punishments, you have to have some sort of potential reward at the end of it that makes it worthwhile.

The other extreme from what you are talking about is we might see nobody go Rogue because they realize that the punishment is too great. Then we have this awesome game mechanic that nearly never gets used.

And just to be clear, I don't think that just gong rogue by shooting one person and running out a 20 second clock should be rewarded greatly. I'm talking about times where you fight off a couple of waves of agents. You and your group take down 8-10 agents in defending yourself. That should be rewarded more than it is in the current system.

well, lets be honest here. that little ugly yellow bag will always entice someone to try to get it no matter what lol "hmm, i wonder what he has" "i got to know what he has, im killing this dude" lol so that enticement will always be there. but i guess to even things out, maybe only give a high reward if you survive the 5+ minuet timer.

True, there will always be some of that.

Imagine though at higher levels... like say level 25 in the DZ. At that point you have people who have been playing this a lot. I think very few will go rogue just for loot knowing that there is a pretty good chance there is nothing more in that bag than a stupid baseball cap or some pink mittens.

Also, the top end gun we saw in the beta cost about 7000 DZ credits. What do you think the top end guns are going to cost at those higher levels? 30,000? 50,000? And knowing that you lose a percentage of your DZ credits for dying as rogue (I forget the exact percentage, but I want to say it is like 30%), who is going to risk it when they are sitting on large piles of cash like that?

I just do not want to see the PVP area turn into 95% of nothing more than another PVE area.

so far Massive is doing a very good job at listening to the community. So im sure they are tweaking some things as we speak. This game is an always online game, so they will be constantly adjusting things as the game moves forward. Im sure they will not let the DZ go down a bad path. Just 11 more days to find out :)

I do give them a lot of credit there. They have seemed to be very responsive to the community so far and the game is not even out.

Ugh... 11 days.

Although, technically, I have been waiting about 3 years for this release, so 11 more days is not so bad.

yes i heard they listened to the complaints about there being few NPC mob to fight in the DZ and in the PvE area so they are turning that up a lot. adding more mobs and such. after waiting 3 years, 11 days is nothing, it will fly by..at least thats what i keep telling myself and it hasn't worked yet..its going by soooo slllooowly :)
